LG Solo LTE 5.7"HD + Tracfone w/1500M/T/D
When I opened box to the LG smartphone I received, the phone had an opaque “strip” across the bottom 1/3rd of the screen. At first I thought it was one of those strips that is on other items that I purchase & I thought I could remove it with my finger. But, this can’t be removed with the finger. Apparently it is a screen setting that needs to be fixed, but I can not find anything in the screen settings menu to get it off of the screen. It covers where I need to be able to see the keyboard. I’m not smartphone “savy” so this is difficult for me to understand it.
Is there any way to remove it from the screen? I don’t know what to do about it.
Thank you for any suggestions you may have.

@toberkins you can contact Tracfone directly at 1-800-867-7183 and they would be happy to assist you with this issue.

HI toberkins, I watched an Unboxing video for this phone on youtube and it looked to me like the opaque strip you’re describing is on one of those protective peel off films that covers the entire front of the phone. It says LG SOLO LTE across the top and the opaque strip of 3 boxes at the bottom. They just started at the top right corner of the phone and peeled it all off. Hope this helps.

Thank you boodlemum, but as I described in my posting, that’s what I thought it was, but it can’t be removed with the finger. It isn’t a protective strip that can be removed. It is an “image” on the screen.

If you google “lg solo unboxing” and watch one of the unboxing videos, you’ll see what I’m referring to. Since you said it was there when you opened the box I was thinking it was the peel off. If the phone is powered off, it’s got to be on the outside of the phone.
If the strip goes away when you power the phone off, then I agree it’s something else with the phone. Does the opaque strip say anything or is it just blank? You may have a faulty screen. If you’re outside the HSN return window but within the 1 yr warranty period, tracfone will replace the phone.
See what tracfone has to say, or you might want to go to the lg website and contact them directly. You could also try resetting the phone to factory settings and see if it goes away. Good luck.
