HSN….free shipping on orders over $75 in a day …BUT…
My order was for 4 items at 19.99 each and my order summary they sent me was $86.16.
BUT…hsn put a hold on my card for $101.24!
Now I have to take the time on hold to get to customer service..10 minutes. I was told the added charge was “only pending and HSN will credit your account in a few days” by Mary when I called customer service on Dec.21,2022. She apologized and said there was no reason for it and HSN does it all the time. She also said HSN has never even explained it to their own reps.
I cannot access that extra money I was charged on my card UNTIL HSN drops that pending amount.
Why does HSN do this kind of stuff??? Doesn’t HSN realize that this only makes people NOT trust them and therefore be less inclined to order from them again?
This causes me to be IMMEDIATELY unhappy with my order because, in essence, HSN overcharged my credit card for abdolutely NO reason that anyone can explain. Aren’t you supposed to be happy about ordering and spending your money with a vendor??
Somebody needs to explain why this happens and why HSN makes their customer service people take more time and more calls for a shady, in my opinion, practice?
Somebody please explain this to us all.
Sincerely, Skylar Blue

Thank you, Krissy!
Finally someone explained this HSN practice. Thank you from the rest of us.
Too bad HSN has to do this even though your email receipt can figure it out right away. Perhaps HSN will fix this glitch now. -
Hi @skyintexas, I am sorry for the confusion and frustration the authorization on your account has caused. With any of our promotions, we authorize the full amount (including Shipping and tax) for each item at the time of purchase before any discounts are applied. These charges will be adjusted with your financial institution at midnight on day of purchase. HSN reserves the right to change or terminate this offer at any time.
