HP Smart Tank Printer not as Advertised

My newly purchased printer is not eligible for the Instant Ink plan. This free afire was heavily advertised during the promotion, and I thought that this would eliminate the frequent ink purchase. When I tried to enroll in the HP Instant Ink plan, my series 5000/5100 printer was not eligible. The error message instructs me to “add an eligible printer…” HSN promoted this product as an eligible printer.

Is there any recourse to this unfortunate and disappointing experience?

    Thanks for the reply, I went to youtube and watch the replay of the product and know I understand what happen.! The description of the product makes it sound like you can get 2 years of Ink. Listening to it again the Ink you get with the printer should last you 2 years and not getting more Ink. So new Ink 4 bottle pack will run around $32

    I have the same HP Instant Ink printer 5000/5100 at the showing of the printer they were advertising 2 years of Ink which led you to believe the Ink was for that Printer…! If this Printer is not eligible for the Ink plan, then HSN was advertising misleading information. I hope HSN will correct this problem or your going to lose viewers of the show.

      @lucas64, you are correct that our specifications mentioned that the printer you purchased comes with up to 2 years of ink, which you should have received along with your printer. However, I did not see anywhere where it mentioned that this printer qualifies for the instant Ink plan. If you still have access to the video, picture, or post mentioning this, please share it with us, and we’ll be happy to further look into it.

    Hi @sewandsow, I am sorry for any confusion the product airing has caused. I reviewed the airing, and I didn’t hear that it was part of the instant ink plan as this item doesn’t use ink cartridges and that’s what the instant ink program sends out. I did hear them mention the HP app that you can use with the printer.

    Do you mind sharing more details around the airing (such as the date and time) you heard them advertise the instant ink plan?
