How is charging my bank account first then denying my flex pay second?
What kind of scam is this? It’s not normal business to charge a customer’s account, only to be denied service seconds later which leads to having funds locked up in limbo for over a week. Who in their right mind thinks this is ok? I’ve just had this happened to me but after some light research seen this has at least been going on for a few years.I’ll be speaking to representatives in a few hours and if a reasonable resolution isnt delivered HSN you will not only lose a potential life long customer but I’ll be making complaint with the FTC and more. This stinks of fraudulent behavior. You guys have $460 dollars of mine locked up for over a week. This is down right scandalous.

I really am sorry to hear that your orders were canceled due to FlexPay Eligibility, @trinitarian. FlexPay orders may be subject to credit verification, and we are not able to see your credit report and the Fair Credit Report regulations state that I could not discuss the specific report if I could see it. We’ll be mailing you a written response within the next 7-10 days.
I have sent electronic requests regarding the authorizations on your account. The time frame as to when the funds will become available is dependent upon your financial institution and their release of funds policy.

Thanks for response, I will acknowledge the funds have been made available in 3 to 4 hours time which was the silver lining here and appreciated. Nevertheless, I’ve still lost a degree of confidence in the over all process in attempting purchase via flex pay, since it’s a gamble that I may or may not be approved but moreover my funds can be placed on hold and then it becomes an issue my financial institution must decide to make available once again. I dont like this procedure and after I pay off my remaining balances I’ll be taking my business elsewhere. Thanks for your time nontheless.
Edit: A process I would find adequate would be stating the obvious. First approve or deny a request for flex pay before and money is “tampered” with in my account. It seems painfully obvious and practical. I can only assume there is some underlining issue that prevents this method, although it’s a shame it has been rectified yet because surely HSN public perception will suffer greatly with the more customers this dubious process afflicts.

This is absolutely ridiculous! I have mine locked for over 800 dollars. It kept charging my account.
