This has happened to be on Sunday 12/15/2024 and still no refund of my $315. There has got to be a better system. If I’m being denied why is HSN still taking my money

FlexPay has been a source of frustration for me. I was not informed of a denial, and my funds were withdrawn twice. The developers involved in this matter have demonstrated a lack of professionalism. Furthermore, I encountered difficulties creating an account due to unavailable usernames. The company’s website and application are poorly designed and user-unfriendly. As a result, I am currently awaiting a three-day refund, despite the initial charge being intended to be a single transaction.
First time I have ever shopped at HSN and it was atrocious i will never in my life shop here again and once I receive BOTH of my refunds I will be deleting my account and inquiring about having all my data removed from the back end. -
I’m sorry for the inconvenience, @thomaslaufey7. When an order is first submitted, the cost of the order (or the first FlexPay installment) is immediately set aside from the balance of your card by your card holder for the pending purchase. Once the order has been canceled, we immediately notify your financial institution. However, the reserved funds are typically released by your card holder within 3 – 7 Business days.
I would like to clarify that no money has been sent to us for this order. Money is only sent to us once an order ships out. It is your bank holding the funds at this time. I recommend reaching out to your card issuer to see how long they will hold the funds.
In regard to Flexpay Eligibility, you will receive a written explanation within 7 to 10 days which will provide you with further reasons pertaining to this. Additionally, you may call our Flexpay Eligibility Department at 1-800-879-2559 for more information. Representatives are available to review the situation with you seven days a week, from 8 am to 8 pm ET.

Flexpay denied me, had been charged 3 times, what reasons can flexpay get denied? How long until I can expect a refund?

This may have something to do with Synchrony Bank. I’ve been a good HSN card holder for at least three years, 100% on time payment history, multiple double minimum payments made, have paid off card once, etc. On 12/17 I received an email advising my credit limit has been lowered leaving me with $45 during Christmas. The biggest issue is that lowering the credit limit also lowers my credit score.
Synchrony Bank is generating lots of complaints about treating loyal customers this way. It’s not illegal but it’s smarmy. I’m only one person, but I won’t be ordering from HSN or QVC anymore after more than 15 years. HSN/QVC have partnered with Synchrony and a company is judged by its choice of partners.
Merry Christmas and I hope you all get your money back in time to have the holiday you want. -
I ordered a 4k Tv and was charged $244 then my order was cancelled by HSN and Flexpay on Dec 1 . Called HSN Customer service on Dec 2 and they said I should see the money back on my card within 3-5 days it’s now
Dec 8 10pm and still the pending charge is on my card. What kind of service is this first you guys charge me and cancel a perfectly good order and then you lie to me on the phone about getting my money back within 3-5 days.
What gives? -
Im shocked at the number of comments expressing anger about issues very similar to my own. Double charged, payments held even though order canceled right after they place the hold (how convenient), funds held 12 days or more, no posted guidelinee that I could find spelling out their policy for installments and why a person would be denied. I was a potential new shopper, I’m not now.

I have no words for this type of shady practice by HSN. Flexpay denied but took $170 out of my account and cancelled order. How do you justify such theft of customers money. I just want my funds returned and I will NEVER use HSN or Flexpay again. Thieves
-
I’m truly sorry that your order was canceled, @trixey33! I share your disappointment and understand your concern. When an order is placed, we authorize the payment with your financial institution. When they see this, a hold is placed on the funds. Rest assured, they have not been taken, but are only being held by your bank. I’ve requested to expedite the release of these funds. You should see them back in your balance within 72 hours. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you and hope you’ll give us another opportunity to shop with you in the future.

Seems like this happens a lot but hsn is lying to everyone they are holding the money not the bank. I am going through the same thing and I have been waiting 7 days for my money back still nothing. I have called my bank and the bank says hsn has not released it even though I have called them 3 times and they said they have. I have now contacted my lawyer since it seems that I am definitely not the only one this is happening to. Very shady business practices.

Thank you for the update, @ashly3! I’m truly sorry that you’re still not seeing these refunds. I’ve reviewed these charges and can confirm that they have been released. Most were released on 7/22, however, one of the orders was just released yesterday, 7/28. I also see notes where this was updated yesterday. Although the funds and authorization hold have been released, it can take up to 72 hours to see those funds back in your account.

You guys denied the flexpay and took my money real nice when is money going to be issued
-
Sorry for the delayed response, @butters009. I see that our system automatically sent a request to your financial institution regarding the authorization. The time frame to see the funds available is dependent upon your financial institutions release of funds policy.

This is ridiculous they denied my payment and charged me twice I need my money back
-

I was denied flex pay and with out my permission you took not only the flex pay amount but also the full amount that I did not authorize! I will be contacting FTC and contacting a class action lawsuit lawyer. This is illegal! You cannot hold funds for a payment plan that was denied and then without telling the customer charge the full amount! I want my money back now! No where in the terms and conditions does it state if your denied we will authorize for full amount or that the pre approval amount will be held before you are approved! Anyone who would like to get information and join me with proceeding with a class action please reply to exchange contact information. You took my bill money your not going to keep getting away with this. I only could afford to do a flex plan which is the purpose for applying for the flex plan!!!!

I’m super off at HSN and I sure want to sue cause the customer service lady I first dealt with was trying to make a flex pay go through for a ps5 bundle of 800 bucks of 5 payments like 160.03 then 159.99 for the rest and she kept saying my card was denied for the flex pay and saying she’s trying too figure it out. Then she wanted another card to try so we tried that and she told me don’t worry sir you won’t be charged on denials. Then I go check my cards after the hour of her trouble shooting and it not going through even though I had 3 flex pays going just fine prior a day before trying the ps5. I even got the 2 laptops for 500 flex pay for 5 months to work but the ps5 is an issue for them? Well guess what. Now I have been on the phone putting in disputes with both cause this lady charged 160.03 to one card 3 times and maxed my card out and the other card she charged that same amount 4 times and maxed it out. Now the cards customer service is telling me to call HSN cause they All went through and made me go over my limits on both my cards. They told me too call HSN and I have several times and they sent me to the flex pay department. They say it can take up too 3 business days for the money to be put back on my cards. Still not on my cards. I’m
Super off cause I get a message from PlayStation saying they have ps5’s in stock now and I can order one directly from them now so I went too use my affirm to get a loan for it and was approved and they want 100 down and small payments after that for 12 months and guess what my cards are still maxed so I can’t pay 100 down to get my ps5 I tried already getting on HSN. HSN has my money held hostage and it’s ruining me trying to get my ps5 ordered else where. You guys at HSN are ridiculous and I’m never ordering from you guys again. You have robbed me of a lot of money and held me up on purchases else where. You guys need sued. You don’t take peoples money when you DENY FLEXPAY. What bullcrap is that? Put my money back on my cards. -
Same happened to me. This is fraudulent and I’ve notified my card issuer and I’m notifying the FTC. No business has any right to place any hold or debit any account with a denial. That means it’s a fraudulently practice to debit an account or hold funds AFTER denying the credit or product. HSN has no right to do this. You deny at that same time you debit funds and that is fraud. I hope customer service sees this because those funds need to be released back just as quickly as they were taken.
-
And the amount taken from my account was more than the amount stated for the first flex pay payment. How do you take more than you initially stated was the charge? Thats a form of theft, is it not?
-
-
Wow, ya’ll really just gonna take my money and deny me? That’s dirty. Everybody should sue for real, that’s the shadiest business practice I’ve ever heard of
-
Everyone should contact the FTC. They have regulations about this type of thing.
-
I’m sorry for this delayed response and to hear that your order was canceled due to FlexPay Eligibility, @vilewisher. I see that we’ve completed an authorization reversal request, so the availability of funds will depend on how quickly your financial institution releases them.
