Curtis Stone Dura-Pan Nonstick Mini Multi-Cooker 739-381
I can’t wait to cook in this appliance that I received two days ago. I started by washing the pot, spatula, and cup, per the directions, but how do I remove the silicon plug from the front of the heat shield so I can remove and clean it? The directions say to clean it after each use, but the white “washer” piece around the silicon plug WILL NOT MOVE. AT ALL. Is it one piece? I watched lots of HSN/Curtis Stone cooker videos — no help. And the presentations skip over the lid cleaning and show Curtis only wiping out the pot. Please include this info in future presentations, but would someone please explain NOW so I can use this?! The picture in the directions is not helpful. Thank you!

After the first use the toggle to release the heat shield so I can clean it has broken off! Can I still use this appliance?

I’d call Curtis Stone Customer Service to ask that question and see what they can do for you. If your HSN purchase is recent, you can call HSN Customer Service about a replacement. When my Mini Multicooker had lived a good life for three years but the buttons stopped toggling through, I bought a replacement on eBay at a great price. It’s doing fine.
Good luck!

The instructions for removing the heat shield are terrible. I have tried and tried to pull the silicon circle off so I could clean the lid to no avail as outlined in a customer’s review. Very poor design!

Hi @hsn_melitza
Thanks for your fast response. Yes, I have those same directions, but I’ve got some good news! I called Curtis Stone Customer Service this morning, and the rep answered quickly. With her on the phone, I pulled the white silicon circle (that surrounds the center plug) forward (it requires some force), and the heat shield popped off. Yay!I might be the only one in the world who had trouble interpreting the directions and illustration, but I’m glad the shield is now washed and reinserted, and I’m ready to use this cooker!
Also, FYI for other Curtis Stone Mini Multi-Cooker buyers, the rep confirmed that they’re having issues with the online warranty registration system, so we are to hold on to our invoices/receipts. I tried to register mine online last night, but it wouldn’t accept the date of purchase. (I tried different dates to troubleshoot, but it wouldn’t accept any, so my registration attempts failed.)
Thanks again for your reply!

Hello @mslomo. Are you asking about the heat shield plug? If so, you would pull out/push in silicon plug. Note: make sure the heat shield plug is reinstalled in correct position.
