Address blocked

I just applied for a HSN card and was approved but when trying to make a purchase I received an error. I spoke to customer service and was told my address had been blocked due to someone else’s account having issues. After asking the people who live with me I found out that they had an HSN account but had filed for bankruptcy and their HSN account is now in bankruptcy. I’m confused as to why I am not able to purchase things because of someone else’s account being in bankruptcy? Why would they approve me for a HSN card but not allow me to send things to my address because of another persons financial issues?
