Flexpay – big deal – never use it
To me, flexpay is more a way of being in debt and having payments to come hanging over my head. I never use it. I was brought up where if you don’t have the cash to pay for something you do without, full stop, and that has stood me in good stead because I’ve never been in debt in my entire life and I don’t intend to start now.

See, I love Flexpay because I might not have $350-$400 to spend on a Cricut all at once, but I can definitely do it in 5-6 installments and NO interest charges like I’d get if I put it on my regular credit card. I have bought my Maker, my ScanNCut, my laptop and other things on FlexPay and paid them all off on time without worrying about interest charges adding to the cost.

I ‘m sure it’s an old-fashioned view that may not even exist nowadays, but I always had to save my money until I had enough to buy something. It was very beneficial for learning patience, which not a lot of people seem to have any more.
For those who feel flexpay helps them, I suppose that the lack of $5 capped shipping will make them need it all the more, depending on how much they buy. My point is that flexpay is a poor substitute for the $5 shipping, but they’re acting like it’s a great thing. They really should and could easily have offered both.

I like flexpay, as well. I get a certain amount to spend each month as does my husband, and we can spend that on anything. If we go over that we talk it over with the other. I like that I can spread things out over a few months. However, losing the $5 shipping was a bad move on HSN’s part and I think they will lose a lot of money and customers today.

I really appreciate flex pay because it makes it easier to buy more without the upfront cost but not having the $5 shipping deal as HSN has always offered makes it impossible to buy as usual. I had $285 in my cart last nite but with $45 shipping I deleted everything and haven’t bought nothing all day. I seen alot that I really wanted but the shipping cost just wasn’t worth it. Been shopping on ebay and Amazon today and paid absolutely nothing in shipping! Winning!
