Another Cardmaking Day ☹️
I’m happy for all the card makers out there! You now have tons of tools, materials, and supplies geared to your hobby. Unfortunately, I don’t make cards. What I do have is multiple 12×12 scrapbooks that I am working on and very few places to find new supplies. I wish I had the funds to start my own business, because I would. I am sure that there are many old- time scrapbookers out there facing the same issue- no new, innovative products or supplies geared specifically to scrapbooking. Yes, some card making goodies can be modified- but with the expense of the products, I don’t feel like modifying. Even my favorite online craft stores have switched to card making. It is frustrating.

I started scrapbooking many years ago. I just got into card making since the pandemic. Most of the card making things can be useful for scrapbooking with a little creativity. Just a thought.

Thank you you both. Scrapbooking is a wonderful hobby that I really enjoy. Card making is an offshoot of scrapbooking. It’s what scrappers started using their leftover supplies for. It’s amazing that scrapbooking is virtually disappearing. I search scrapbooking on HSN and I come up with card making supplies and kits. If I were to make small scale scrapbooks, I could probably use card making supplies- but I miss the big kits that HSN used to have. They were high quality and included all that was needed. No searching for individual items from online stores.
I just wish that HSN realized that card making doesn’t equal scrapbooking.-
It’s the opposite in England. Card making came first, scrapbooking later. Hsn is not the only place to buy anything. Scrapbooking stuff is online elsewhere.

Creative Memories was huge here in the US. That is how I got started in the late 90’s. I used to attend all their crops. Slowly, they started introducing card making as a way to use up leftover materials.
HSN used to offer huge TSV kits made be a company called “Three Birds”. I don’t even know if they still exist. Also, Anna Griffin and other designers were scrapbooking designers before they had card kits.
I know I am not the only customer who is the unhappy about the absence of true scrapbooking kits- if I had the capitol, I would start my own company. I believe the market still exists but many scrappers have given up on the hobby

I also think scrapbooking took a huge hit because of cell phones with cameras. I know so few people now who take pictures with actual cameras. Convenience trumps memories. I was never into scrapbooking, but I loved sitting down and going through and passing around photos. Scrolling through a phone just isn’t the same.

I have never done scrapbooking so maybe I don’t really understand what the supplies are. I know most use 12×12 paper but that can be found in so many places. I guess stamps aren’t used much but I would think any embellishment used on cards can also be used in a scrapbook. In addition to the other sites mentioned, you might also want to check out A Cherry On Top.

Have you tried scrapbook with .com after it or craftstash with .us after it? If I don’t write it like that I think they will remove them.
