Curtis Stone Bakeware DOES warp in oven
Pretty disappointed. Product does warp in oven and leaves a discoloration on sheet where I baked meatballs…meatballs did tend to stick and I did have to soak the pan to get it clean…
The pans are a little heavier and seem more durable than others I have bought in past so with that said, I will hang on to them but buyer beware, they are not ‘all that and more’ as presented.
-
Wanted to add…..none of the sheets, pots or pans have warped while baking/cooking. After all they don’t need high heat to do the job.
-
I ordered a set of 2 cookie sheets and baked peanut butter cookies yesterday. They baked perfectly and came off the sheets without a problem. These cookie sheets are quite a bit heavier and I love them. Recently I went through all my pots and pans and donated everything even the SS from Wolfgang Puck. Didn’t enjoy the scrubbing involved to keep them shiney. All I have is Curtis Stone now. They’re beautiful. Shorter cooking time. Easy to clean. And nothing sticks. They’re a dream. Oh….and none of my have warped in high heat.
-
I, too, at first, loved them . Give it some time – it will happen. I hope it doesn’t happen to you as perhaps after numerous complaints, they have switched to a different manufacturer in China or developed a different manufacturing process. I had ordered a set of red cookie sheets and then I ordered 2 black thinking how wonderful they were. I baked cookies on the red sheets and they did turn out great. I then baked cookies on the black sheets and hmmm, cookies did not come off the sheet as easily. After a few times, I jumped in my skin, as a noise came from oven – you know, that ‘bang’ sound – didn’t expect that! Yep, the sheets had twisted in the baking process! …and I also noticed this happened more oftern when I used the black sheets…the red sheets does it also now.
(I use these sheets at least 3 times a week for baking, roasting vegetables, baking meatballs, and so on – just as done on presentations by CS and Rochelle. ) Meatballs stick on both but did notice they do not stick as bad on the red sheets – the black ones, yes. My sheets OVER TIME, have discolored and do have a ‘few’ areas that are ‘baked’ on stains. Not looking so great anymore!
Just a note: I do take care of my kitchen ‘tools’ – I do READ and FOLLOW the use and care instructions, I hand wash after use, I never put them in dishwasher, I watch the heat allowances.

So far, I have been very happy with the CS skillets I have. They do not get heavily used.
I first purchased the Chef Ming skillets and they did loose the finish quickly. I read the reviews on the CS oven pans (heavy baking sheets with a narrow lip) and decided no. I went to a home outlet store and got a cheap pan instead. I needed a little one. It is okay but when you read the fine print, no temp over 425 degrees F. Okay my mistake. I have had lots of oven pans that pop or bow in the higher heat.
I do have two great pans from a brand that I got at Target, and I’ve seen them on Amazon. Nordic Ware, made in the USA. Just don’t put them in the dishwasher, they will discolor and lose the finish. They do not pop or bow in the high oven heat and cook evenly.

Thanks for adding your post Yellow Rose! I guess that is the key, is not to use them too often so that you don’t have issues – at least right away. I did find a large skillet pan to replace my Durapans at Costco. It is only 3 layer, not 5, but who can tell the difference when you are using it – anyway, this skillet has been awesome and it only cost $19.95. If I end up throwing it out because of wear or lack of durability, I am still ahead of the game! You are right- you got to shop around and buy what best suits your needs and expectations. I loved my durapans when I first got them and I do take care of my cookware – handwash, read instructions on care and use, no metal utensils, and so on BUT I still ended up disappointed. I do however cook everyday.
I was just thinking back – I remember my parents had been given a set of cookware when they got married and they still used them until they passed. They sure don’t make ANYTHING to last like that anymore. (They were married for 67 years)

I will tell you the two scams I am tired of right now!
When HSN was bought out, they increased shipping charges, and they also increased packaging time. I bought a pair of shoes that have been stuck in packaging for days! I contacted Chat yesterday. She told me not to worry I would be receiving my shoes by the 26th. She just basically told me my shoes would be living in packaging for a few more days! Arg! If your going to be so slow to ship, decrease shipping costs back to where they were before the buy out! Ooh Skittles inflation, blah, blah caused the price increase. As a former Buyer/Planner, I am very confident that HSN has a sweet deal on shipping charges because of their volume. I will also tell you the company I worked for increased shipping costs to the customer. For example, it cost us 3.00 dollars to ship, the company charged the customer 6.00 dollars for shipping charges.
The hosts who repeatedly tell us they have several of product X,Y and Z in every color. The explanation ensues how this product changed their life! If this is true, they have several storage warehouses with forklifts as well!

Skittles135, I always like reading your posts! You are a straight shooter!
Personally, I don’t think companies should treat shipping as an added ‘profit margin’ as it dupes the consurmer on the back end. I get the fuel costs have gone up but when the cost comes down (if it comes down!) I don’t expect the shipping cost will follow. it would be great if it did but I have a feeling the mindset will be ‘greed’ so why lower it if consumers paid for it all along.
I know business is business – make a dollar – but make a dollar today doesn’t mean you will make a dollar tomorrow – for business longevity, the business has to be fair to the consurmer if they want to keep customer retention so they can make that dollar tomorrow, and the next day….
We do have a serious problem – diesel fuel is at a all time high which these trucks run on but these drivers are having a tough time affording the fuel, the insurance hikes, maintenance, permits which has now lead to fewer drivers… Fewer drivers, fewer trucks, less distribution. Economy suffers. The consumers pick up the tab yet again. Our current administration needs to ‘smarten up’. I better stop here.I loved the part of your post that the hosts had their lives changed – over a pair of shoes?! Wow !!! But I did notice, most of the hosts say they have the products they are selling personally and how wonderful the product is – if that is the case, they must be working there for free as they all do numerous presentations throughout the day! Marketing tactic to build credibility and gain consumer trust – dupe the consumer! Sharon is bad for that – she has multiples of everything she sells as she gives them as gifts to her mom, family, the homeless guy on the corner……
Aghhhh!
-
Thanks💓
I am tired of the same old presentations! The ooh, the awwww, the tapping on the chest with the hand, the panting for breath, and the running out of breath!
If I hear the words “smart” and “cute” one more time, I think I will scream.
HSN needs new blood and new life because the high school presentations they have now are lame.
-
You said it ! The hosts are as predictable as a soap opera plot !
One thing that used to irritate me was watching Shannon host a presentation with CS…
she ALWAYS had to take home the food he cooked as it was the ‘BEST’, she was on her phone “placing her order for the set” being sold because it was such a good deal – one for her and one for her mother, and i couldn’t help but feel embarrassed for her as it appeared she was flirting with him like she had a school girl crush on him….. AGH!!! She didn’t act like that during other presentations I had seen her do!
I realized at that time – I was watching way too much of HSN – to think that I let a host irritate me. -
That is hilarious! I never saw that presentation, but I would love to see it.
That is pure SNL material!
😂 😂 😂 😂 😝😆😝🙃🙃🙃
-
Your post about the patting of chest, out of breath hosts reminded me of a Celine Dion doing a concert !
I haven’t watched her for a while or CS but I am sure she hasn’t changed much…I just couldn’t watch anymore….
Set up a reminder alert when CS is doing a presentation, then see who the host is…
it is funny especially when she keeps getting in the way of CS sous chef (sorry, I can’t remember her name right now). Shannon stands so close to CS during presentation that if you checked him for fingerprints, the result would show Shannons.’. LOLYou have a great weekend!
-
I have actually never watched a Shannon presentation, until now. OMG. She acts like a teenager that is in high school with a crush! I bought the TS Kindle 64 and saw her and Aaron present it.
She went on and on about how it should cost more, and the customers should apologize for buying it so cheap. If I need to offer HSN an apology for buying their products, they can return all of my money. In return, I will ship all of their products back to them! As much as I have bought from HSN, I considered her remarks an insult. 🤕 🤕
She kept calling Aaron her boyfriend! I am surprised she wasn’t wear his jacket and his high school ring on a chain. 🤦
This is great for SNL because it’s not believable! 🙃
I now know why people complain about Shannon!
Have a terrific weekend, beautiful! 💖🌹💓
-
HILARIOUS!!!!
I wonder if SNL would consider doing a skit about home shopping hosts?
That would be funny!
-
Shannon was blushing and gushing about Aaron being her boyfriend. It was totally attention-seeking behavior. I felt like the kid sister interrupting her date because I was watching her and Aaron presenting the Kindle. It was very awkward, to say the least.
This is pretty low sales behavior, IMO.
SNL has Pure Gold material to get from HSN presentations!

I also emailed his company about the warping issue, no response. I emailed them a request to offer smaller sets of pots and pans to accommodate of households who cook for 1 or 2, no response. Again will never buy CS
-
Several years ago I had purchased his original Durapans – it came as a set of 2 with the lids. They were great for about 8 months or so when I noticed that they started to ‘bowl’ on my stove top.
They no longer would sit flat – so if I was cooking an omelet, the egg mixture would pool up in one side. Fine and granted, I used them everyday as I cook all our meals…so perhaps, these pans are better suited for those who pull them out a few times a week? Don’t know…
A few months back I bought a 14″ large skiller (Granitestone) from Costco for $20 (only 3 layer coated – LOL) and so far it has been great! If it doesn’t last 8 months – I can toss it and NOT feel bad.Skittles135 and Northiie, I hear you both and feel your disappointments! so sorry ! Lessons learned by each of us. CS is a good talker/seller of his product so I will give him that BUT now I am skeptical of ALL ‘celebrity chef’ endorsed products. (…and don’t get me started on Emeril Lagasse Pasta Dough Maker – nightmare!!! )
-
Hi blue-eyes2
I drink a couple of glasses of wine every 4 to 6 months. I bought the Wolfgang Puck wine bottle opener. It didn’t last 1 year.
It can’t be said that I over used it. 😂
You would think these vendors would start using better manufacturers in China?
-
Hey Skittles135! Loved your post!
Yeah, I could see if you used it every 4-6 HOURS ! LOL !
I am so over Celebrity Chefs using their ‘name’ to sell product that China produces to make a buck from us hard working stiffs…. My mistake was that I TRUSTED what they were saying thinking they were providing their expertise. I was duped….Anyone else out there ever felt duped? Feel free to share as we can all learn from one another and be just a little wiser in our future shopping decisions.

Out of all the vendors, I felt the most scammed by Sharif/HSN Sharif purses are of garbage quality. Actually, I threw probably close to 1K of money I spent on his purses into the garbage. Every single of his “leather” purses started to peel. I had one embroidery purse that started falling apart at the 6-month level. The longest one of his purses lasted was 1 year. I have many purses, so it cannot be said I only used his purses and that is why they fell apart.

This goes back quite a while ago, but I always felt kicked in the when I purchased Joy Mangano’s air “purifier’. I bought her hangers and was pleased with them so I gave her some credibility to the products she was selling at later dates. Well, she came out with an air purifier that was ‘whisper quiet’ and that she said she personally had on her nightstand working all the time… The product looked decent enough during presentation and she claimed how well it worked (as did the host ! LOL) so I purchased. When I rec’d it, I thought they sent me the wrong product ! It was made of cheap plastic that contained a small fan – whisper quiet ? NOT !!! She even included scent discs that could be placed into a slot to provide a nice scent throughout your room – the scent disc looked like it was made of plastic and smelled like it too ….
My fault again for trusting the host AND Joy M…sadly, I had bought two of them. One was supposed to be a gift but after I saw it, I would have too embarrassed to give it. They went in the trash….money spent foolishly! -
Sorry blue-eyes2 that happened to you. 😭
What is wicked is they brought no quality, scammed a lot of people Joy back to HSN.
After all the complaints about Joy’s products, HSN continues to do the wrong thing!
-
Wow!! That is a lot of ka-ching to be thrown away !
That definitely is one for the books of Scam, skittles135 !
There were also a lot of comments about Joys’ purses doing
the same thing back in the day !
Skittles135, your comment is a great heads up for anyone looking at purchasing
those purses! -
Sharif moved over to ShopHQ. I have no desire for any of his products.
I also have bought poor quality products from Joy, Iman, and Colleen Lopez. All of their products look pretty. Until, you get their products home, and they fall apart.
In my buying experience with HSN, Sharif gets the trophy for the worst quality on the planet that cost me the most! I complained to HSN. They never responded.
-
-
I bought his tumblers that keep coffee hot. I threw them in the trash. I get the same results from a regular cup.
His products have no quality.
Money in the trash products.
-
I so agree! I see he has made no changes when I ordered mine 3 years ago. I could not donate them and it was heavy cost to ship back. I used it once and ended up throwing out. Its like I just burned dollar bills. I buy nothing Curtis Stone.
