Warm or Cool?
Could you lovely ladies please tell me how to decide if you’re a Warm or Cool complexion? I have tried both shades in different foundations but just didn’t get the results I was looking for. Thanks for any info you can provide before I go on another search for that elusive makeup!!

Thanks for all the great ideas on finding that “perfect” foundation you nice ladies have given me. I will update when I finally find the right choice. Have a wonderful week.

If you have yellow in your skin, you are a warm. If your skin has more pink, you are a cool.Hope that helps.
I am a warm. I use M. Asam Magic Finish and it works for me. -
@tillyboy I finally stopped trying to match my foundation and got the trending Korean foundation that goes on white and blends into a perfect match when you blend it with the brush, a beauty blender, or your hands. It really works and it’s perfect. Light like a tinted moisturizer but great coverage. If you can’t find your match, try that and quit looking. It’s pretty amazing.

The craziest thing with me it doesn’t matter what I’m always the lightest color they offer. And, on a few occasions it’s too dark. I like to look natural don’t like looking made up.I quit mascara ,eye liner, in my 60’s. Need my brows little eyeshadow ,foundation and setting power.I’m good to go.Focus is my hair. That’s another story! LOL

I’ve often thought that hair color is a better indicator. For example, if you change your hair color, you might find that you need all new makeup.
Do the veins in your wrist appear blue or green? Blue = cool, I think.
What clothing colors look best on you? Another hint.
Also, brands vary.
Stop into an Ulta or Sephora, and play around.-
Great advice ennui

I learned this years ago from a Mary Kay party. Have a gold swath and a silver one. put them up to the side of your face. If you look better with the gold, you are warm, if you look better with the silver, you are cool.

Thanks mndreamer, I will also try that before I buy any new foundation. Ebay had a ton of Estee Lauder foundations, but I would imagine the expirations were pretty close, if not past their dates.

You’ll get 100 ways how to tell. Best to actually Google “how to tell if you are warm or cool skin toned”, and pick and choose. Be aware you could fall in the neutral range. That is super confusing because you aren’t falling in either category.
If you can’t wear Doll 10 foundation because it’s too yellow, you probably are a cool or neutral cool tone.

Thanks, Sharon. for the info. Would I be better off to try a neutral next time? I have strawberry blonde hair, very fair skin and blue eyes. I never used Doll 10, some of Adrianne’s foundation were too dark.
