Skinn cosmetics
I am so upset with Dimitrii since he joined HSN. Or maybe it was always this way………..but think not…I am speaking here of the years back when so many creams and serums were put in squeeze tops in containers that were colored so you could not see the amount left. I received 2 jars of the blue line of eye cream when he was on Skinn.com on Mother’s day. However this time I checked before I used any, and sure enough there its is a false bottom .. You get maybe a third of what the size of the bottle is. He puts most everything in colored bottles so imagine those that you are unable to see are false bottoms and have been for a time.
I am going to buy some of his older ones I see on ebay and see if they are the same. Why does everyone have to be so greedy when they start making the money?

Several cosmetic companies put smaller amount of product in a larger container. The ounces stated on the product must be in the container or the company could be sued. I’m looking at the Age Reset Eye Serum that is 1/2 an ounce. The blue bottle is much larger then the smaller container with the serum in it under the blue bottle. I also like to see how much product is left in the containers/bottles.

I so agree with this lunacy of putting small amounts of product in large containers. Hopefully, most of us know how much .5 oz is and are not fooled – just frustrated at false bottoms and other ‘out to get you’ techniques. I am beginning to boycott sellers who do this. I don’t want my limited shelf space taken up by unnecessarily large containers.

The MAIN reason companies use larger containers is not to fool the consumer. It has to do with the manufacturing process. The containers are not filled manually – they are on a conveyor. The product shoots into the container and there has to be enough room for it to safely and accurately be dispensed. The weight of product (.05 oz, 1 oz, etc) HAS to be what’s in the container.
Just a little information from someone who used to be a part of the process. Hope it helped.

Oh, that’s interesting. Thanks for advising. Sometimes things aren’t done for the reasons we believe.

I know what you mean! I have been a loyal customer for years, and I would follow him from station to station. His products in tubes are NEVER full and run out fast. Now it seems like he’s not true to his customers anymore. I have stopped buying most of his products and have turned to similar ones on QVC.
