Looking for holders and/or storage ideas for Beekman 1802 Large Soap Bars
Hello,
I love my Beekman 1802 products. I would like to “set my soaps free” as the boys always say, and have a few open at a time I can switch back and forth from. However, I have having trouble finding a soap saver or container box to store my open bars that are large enough to fit them (my rough measurement of the soap is 4” x 2.5” x 1.5”)
Most bar saver boxes I’ve seen have curves, so even if they measure big enough, they don’t fit the full rectangular shape of the bar inside the box.
Do any of you have any holders you can recommend? Or share any ideas of how you store your large bars after opening? I really wish the boys would come up with something for them. Even if they made a larger sized tin box like they do for the smaller 3.5” soaps, that would be great!! I just don’t like keeping more than 1 bar in the shower at a time so they don’t get wet and lose their frangrance.
Thank you! Christy

Hello, MsLomo! I just saw your post and will ask my dad and get back to u! He used it on the mini tins but I can’t see how it wouldn’t work the same for the actual holders too- I’m glad you told me that as I just have their caddies recently & I’ll have Dad coat them too! I’ll write back as soon as I hear from him 🙂

@bonechickchris, I would really appreciate knowing what your father used to coat the tins and if it’s working for you. That would be very helpful in case I try a Beekman caddy again. I bought a couple of the Beekman caddies — one for the kitchen that included dish soap, hand soap, and lotion, and one for the guest bath with soap and lotion — and I gave a third one as a gift. All three of them degraded — a grayish/black “rusting out.” It was very disappointing, especially after hearing one of the BBs say that everyone loves their caddies, which is how I was persuaded to buy.
After I open a soap bar, I let it sit on the soap dish in the shower — not enclosed in anything. It seems to stay in good shape over the 6 or so weeks that one large bar lasts me.

Ok! It’s a “clear coat” spray- what he uses is Rust-Oleum brand, and on the can he says is says, “2X the Coverage” you should be able to get it at any Home Depot or even a Walmart- just make sure it’s not wet or moist before doing it or humid outside as his said it can leave an uneven coat- I hope this helps!

Wow, that was fast! Thanks so much @bonechickchris and your father for this info. Very helpful. 🙂

I personally keep multiple bars in my shower caddy that hangs over the faucet and haven’t had any problems with them getting too wet or losing scent.
However, I once heard the boys suggest using their soap caddy (the one that comes with the liquid hand soap) to stand up soap bars. If I remember correctly, they showed four full-size bars standing up, two in each side. Just a thought…

Thank you so much for your reply 🙂 I’m sorry I didn’t see your comment sooner,Christel, as no one answered me back and I’m kinda new here on the community board- but I can totally see how I can use their soap/lotion caddy as a holder since I have 3 sets bc of my favorite scents but only have 2 bathrooms! As a side note, my dad saw my small soap tins when I visited (as I need my soap everywhere & had my small soap and tin while visiting ) & he’s in the middle of coating my small tins with something that will prevent rusting! Lol! I thought it was a varnish but he corrected me, so if interested, I’ll have to come back here to share the wisdom after asking him again what it is 🙂 but you need to do it on a non-humid day, at least I remember that! From a Christy to Christel 🙂
