Korean Products offered on HSN aren't tested on animals BUT
over a million dogs are eaten in South Korea per year.
I doubt this post will ever be posted but I cannot watch Colleen Lopez tell the viewership about the humane production of the products being offered.
If anyone doubts this, check it out. They have actual “dog farms” raising dogs for human consumption. I know it’s not just South Korea who eat dogs (and cats)in Asia, however, this just hit me all wrong had to post this.

GYMBERLE –
I SAY THAT VERY FACT OUT LOUD IN MY HOUSE EVERY TIME ANYONE SAYS THE PHRASE HOW
S KOREA DOESN’T TEST ON ANIMALS –
THE LEVEL OF FARCE ABOUT THAT STATEMENT L I T E R A L L Y MAKES MY BLOOD BOIL!!!!!!!!!!!ANYTHING FROM ANYWHERE IN ANY PLACE IN ASIA – IS A HARD PASS FOR ME.
Buying from places that DO NOT test on animals or EAT DOGS/CATS is HARD to do at first – but once you get started and stick to the conviction – it’s easy to be righteous about it. And I am.
I care not what anyone thinks about me, I am about my causes, and not about the opinions of others, I never was. -
Karen16, We share identical views on this subject and how heartwarming that is to me.
As you said, trying to avoid buying products from “dog-eating countries” isn’t easy but I’ve been working on it for years. When I heard Colleen Lopez pushing Korean cosmetics and emphatically touting they aren’t tested on animals I saw red. She needs to see the acres of pens of dogs in unbelievable conditions waiting to be someone’s meal.
Proud to know you.

I want buy anything from Asia, the inhumane conditions they keep dogs and cats for human consumption is beyond belief. They also steal pets for the meat market. There are a lot of people in Asia that do have pets and take care of them, but unfortunately, many pedigree dogs have been rescued from the meat markets from Asia by organizations and these dogs were probably owned as a pet. They also maim the animals before slaughtering them, some that have been rescued have horrendous injuries. Domestic livestock are treated no differently. There are young people in Asia who are fighting to save these animals, but it is not easy.
They are also responsible for the poaching of animal parts for old folklore medicine, many animals are poached and their parts sold to the Asian market. Having adopted from an Asian country, their treatment towards certain children is quite appalling, although the younger generation do not agree or support their older relatives antiquated feelings and actions towards such things and superstitions.
You are always going to get those people that don’t care about the suffering of animals, but the majority of people do not think this way. They care and are out there doing what they can.

Korean Products: no animal testing, “B. S.” I repeat what has already been said – that country EATS DOGS AND CATS —
THEY BREED AND RAISES DOGS AND CAT, BEAUTIFUL DARLING LITTLE PUPPIES AND KITTENS FOR THAT “ABOMINABLE” PURPOSE AND KEEP THOSE INNOCENT, LOVING, INTELLIGENT, ANIMALS IN THE MOST DEPLORABLE CONDITIONS, THEN THEY MERCILESSLY SLAUGHTER THEM, AND — EAT THEM — I CONSIDER THIS “CANNIBALISM.”
THE ABJECT CRUELTY IS ABSOLUTELY SOUL-SICKENING.
PLEASE, DON’T FALL FOR THE RIDICULOUS FAST-TALKING HYPE ABOUT korean skin care BEING 10 TO 15 YEARS AHEAD OF THE REST OF THE WORLD, THAT IS SO LAUGHABLE.
AND PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THE INNOCENTS OF THE WORLD WHO HAVE NO VOICE TO DEFEND THEMSELVES, PLEASE, PLEASE DON’T BUY korean products, HSN IS GIVING THEM THE SPOTLIGHT TODAY, PLEASE DELETE YOUR ORDER. HAVE A HEART.-
Thanks for your post in defense of animals who are tortured and eaten in South Korea.
Again, I see HSN doesn’t read these posts as yesterdays’ programming included “SOUTH KOREAN BEAUTY PRODUCTS”. And again, were informed by Shannon, the host, that animal testing is outlawed in SK. I would have rolled on the floor with laughter if it weren’t so hideous.
What I don’t understand, however, is there are just a few posts here and where are all the dog and cat lovers who must be watching these presentations.? Come on people. Tell HSN you won’t support any product that is produced in “dog-eating” countries. With ALL the skincare lines available why do they have to support these?
I wish I could be selected for call-in testimonial and ask them if after a great sale at HSN do they all go out for dinner and have Golden Retriever steaks and some puppy pudding. Sound awful?
Well that’s the way it happens.

~ I kindly – implore all of you who love and respect animals to please, please, take a minute and write a letter to Mr. Mike George the President and CEO of Qurate Retail Inc – they own HSN and QVC. We can’t email him, but his very kind assistant, D. J. Mitchell, told me in a phone conversation that we need to send letters by regular mail, addressed to –
Office of the President Mr. Mike George
QVC Inc. 1200 Willson Drive
Studio Park, Westchester, Pa. 19380
Mail Code 219, D. J. MitchellThe envelopes need to be addressed that way so D. J. will receive them and give them to Mr. George. Otherwise it will not reach him directly.
Posting on the community forum is great, but if we can get as many caring people as possible to write and send letters, that will get results in stopping HSN and QVC from supporting products from countries that are so abominably cruel to animals.
In our wonderful country it’s rather difficult to fully realize the abject cruelties that dogs, cats, and other animals are subjected to in other parts of the world.
It’s horrible that HSN has discontinued Serious Skin Care, Elysee, and other co’s but are “supporting and spotlighting” South Korean products. The vendors and hosts will blather on endlessly about how the SK government has outlawed animal testing – they still do animal testing – and torture animals – they want our money and are playing us for fools. Well, we’re not fools.
The people in Korea and other countries who are fighting against these monstrous cruelties can use our help. And writing and mailing a letter to Mr. George is an easy simple act, but can make a difference.
The letter can be short, but graphic to get our point across – such as –
( Dear Mr. George,
As a good customer to both QVC and HSN, I along with many others will boycott both shopping networks because we can not and will not tolerate the selling of products from countries, like South Korea, that commonly practice the most abhorrently cruel treatment of animals. They raise dogs in the most deplorable conditions and maim them, inflicting horrendous unbearably painful injuries on those innocent, intelligent, animals before they mercilessly slaughter them, then eat them. Cats, and domestic livestock are treated no differently.Their treatment of children, who are born less than perfect, or poverty stricken is quite appalling.
There are people fighting such unspeakable cruelties, and we can help them by doing our part and not supporting products from countries, like South Korea, that commonly practice such monstrous, barbaric, inhumane acts.
Most sincerely, )
I hope you write a letter, and get other to do the same. I’m going to. Thank you so very much for caring, I’m very proud of all of you. (((Hugs)))

Money doesn’t talk..IT SCREAMS!! I will get my letter out promptly. Thanks so much for the heads-up.
-
-
Thank you so very much cbriley. I completely agree with you, money does scream – and what a horrifying shame, a disgrace on humanity, when “money” allows innocent, defenseless, lives to be tortured and slaughtered ~ dogs, cats, love unconditionally, and all animals respond to love and humane treatment. And “people” who treat them otherwise have stepped outside of the human family.
I’ve talked with rescue groups ~ wonderful people ~ who go to these areas and bring animals back to the US for adoption, and what they have seen and heard is beyond description in mere words.
I’ve got letters in the mail and I’m getting friends to do the same.
Bless your heart for caring ! (((HUGS))) -
wow, I am returning a product I recently bought, I thought somehow south Korea was different?
Why are they misleading us? Well I know why actually, it worked. but no more! -
When I hold my little Shih Tzu closely in my arms I think of those poor animals being tortured. eaten, living in filth, may God punish the Animals who are doing this. There are decent people in Korea why can’t they try to help these poor animals. My little one is so loved I’ll just hold her a little closer.
-
What’s even more horrifying is the animals are not always dead when they go to remove their fur with a blow torch. Will never buy anything from South Korea.
-
Actually you can email Mike George @ QVC.com. MG has a team who reviews all the posts to see if they think it’s worth kicking upstairs. I have emailed MG several times and they did get back to me. I knew SK ate animals we keep as pets, but we raise pigs, chickens, ducks, etc. in this country. I don’t see what the difference is, an animal is an animal.
-
The United States food industry is guilty of horrific treatment of animals too.

Almost bought Neogen face cream on HSN after Coleen said she uses it everyday. Canceled my order right away when I saw it was made in Korea. Now I have to check if creams and make up are made in China!! Would you really want to put mascara on your eyes that is made in Wuhan!!
-
Thank you cbriley, for canceling your order for Neogen cream.
The ingredient decks on the containers do not list everything that’s in the products, and they “Still Do Animal Testing” even though the vendor vows that they don’t, stating the government has outlawed it. And as far as those cosmetics being years ahead of the USA and other countries, that’s completely idiotic and Not True.
I think, now, we’re all very clear that the upper echelon and science of that part of the world can not be trusted.
I talk frequently with a rescue organization here in Malibu CA. that fly into that part of the world and rescue dogs and cats, and what they have to tell and the photos and videos they’ve taken are absolutely soul-sickening. You simply can not “un-see” the horrors those people inflect on innocent animals. People who do that to any animal while watching and listening to the animals shrieking and writhing in unfathomable pain, those people have stepped outside of the human family.
The way they slaughter pigs is like looking at something right out of hel_ ! The ungodly misery they put those animals through is completely unnecessary – there are far more humane ways of farming and bringing pigs and cattle to market that they have complete access to, but choose not to use.
Does anyone really believe that COVID-19 was not engineered? The scientist who was working on COVID-19, and who tried to warn the world, “disappeared” along with his colleagues.
Please do not buy “anything” from that part of the world.
Stay Safe Everyone, try and keep calm, and rally in the outpouring of love and support we have for each other ~ ((((((((((((SUPER HUGS))))))))))))))))) ~ -
Make sure you don’t buy anything from these countries too as they still eat dogs (and cats):
China, Indonesia, Korea, Mexico, Philippines, Polynesia, Taiwan, Viet Nam, the Arctic and Antarctica and two cantons of Switzerland.
It was also legal in 44 states in the U.S. until:
“President Trump Signs the Farm Bill Making Dog and Cat Meat Illegal in the United States”
December 21, 2018 12:19 AM Eastern Standard Time
WASHINGTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–On December 20th, in a groundbreaking victory for animals in the United States and across the world, the “Dog and Cat Meat Prohibition Act” was signed into law by President Trump as a provision of the Farm Bill. The bill was spearheaded and sponsored by the Animal Hope and Wellness Foundation (AHWF), a nonprofit that rescues dogs and cats from the dog and cat meat trade abroad. The Act makes it a federal offense to slaughter, trade and import/export dogs and cats for human consumption, a practice that was previously legal in 44 states.
