Gabor Wigs

I had thought about getting one because they looked cute, but none of the many wigs on the HSN or other sites had reviews higher than a low 3.

A lot of the complaints listed the fact that there was too much hair, but I get frustrated that the sales people or wig vendor don’t tell people that they need to take the new wig to their hair dresser for a cut and shape that fits each person’s face. You only have to do it once, but when they just shake it and say it’s good to go – it’s not. It will look “wiggy” and fake unless it is cut and styled by a professional. I have many wigs and it is well worth the extra money to have a wig that looks natural.

I had a doctor appointment in the cancer building this week and got there early so I went to the gift shop. I saw all the wigs in the window. They were not as shiny looking as the wigs sold on HSN or QVC. The vendors promote the shiny look at a positive but I think it might look fake in reality.

The wigs in the gift shop looked more real, not highly shiny and may have been real hair. Similar hair cuts to what is shown on HSN and QVC. I used to work with a gal who wore very cheap wigs and they looked like plastic hair.

One thing with wigs besides getting it cut and styled to fit one’s face as Lisa said, is to pick a color that flatters one’s face. You will see the hosts and models being put in some of the blond colors and it is absolutely not flattering to their complexion. Matching skin color/tone to the wig color helps make them look natural or real.

Lastly, research where the natural hair comes from, who grows out their hair and sells it for money to feed their families.
