Beekman
I don’t see Beekman’s foaming face wash anymore. It’s great, is it coming back? I also use Light as Air moisturizer and Face Serum. They work great and aren’t too heavy, is there a new product in their place? Love Beekman Products but don’t want to change my facial routine.

I’ve been buying and using the Beekman products since they first started selling on Evine. The quality has gone down since those days, and I bought my final Beekman order last Christmas and do not intend to purchase their product again.

I found some past season Beekman body creams at my local TJMaxx today (Summer Glow). I also found a couple bars of Shine Bright soap, part of a past season holiday collection. Just fyi. I don’t have issues with past season items when they are sealed.

Thanks for the information Ennui,
The Bloom Cream has turned out to be one of my favorites. I mix a little goat milk serum with it and it feels light and refreshing when applied. I have found the goat milk face wash on ebay. I bought what they had available. The triple face wash soap is more drying than the goat milk face wash. I use everything Beekman, laundry soap too and I’d love to see some originals brought back. Take care all, Peg aka “escher”

I don’t know if escher is watching, but I heard Josh and Brent say that Blaak Night line is being discontinued, and that the products are being rolled into the Bloom Cream lines. It makes sense to consolidate the tv products into the retail store products.
I contacted Beekman 1802 customer service to ask about the triple milk facial soap bars, and they said those bars are manufactured for the tv market. Interesting.
The company has evolved from goat milk soap, that’s for sure.-
Thanks for the update. I’m trying the Bloom Cream now and it seems nice. Take care, Peg aka Escher

I’m so sorry to read this! I agree with a previous poster who said Philosophy and IT Cosmetics are two companies whose quality markedly went down after being sold. I love Beekman face cleansing cloths . Hope they don’t change 🙁
-
The wipes are my only Beekman products on auto ship, and already I see flimsier cloths, and in shapes that aren’t what’s advertised on the packaging. The decline has already started.

I have a relative who has written for over a dozen magazines for the beauty industry for thirty years; she also has a great many friends who do the same. Some magazines are strictly devoted to foundations, powders and concealers; others cover products for brows and mascara, etc.
During her decades of writing, she has seen a great many wonderful companies that began small and produced everything with great honesty, care and worked diligently to deliver to its customers the finest ingredients and formulas in everything it sells.
No matter what promises are made to the original owners, gradually–and usually not so gradually–the products are pared down solely to cut costs and increase profits. Nearly all the original owners end up broken-hearted and embarrassed at what their company becomes.
My relative and all the writers she knows have never seen any of the product lines improved in any way. I would stock up on Beekman immediately as the future, from those who cover beauty product lines know from their decades reporting on these companies, that sadly, products will be “watered-down”, ingredients will be replaced with cheaper and less “good for our skin” substances. So sorry to write this, but these writers visit all the factories, interview the chemists, the workers who mix the ingredients, the developers, unless they signed contracts forbidding them from “honest” disclosures to reporters, these writers know what they are reporting about. It breaks my heart.

The Light as Air eye cream and serum are available, so I would just keep checking for the day cream. I’m watching for the triple milk facial bars.

Thanks for the replies. I looked up Dolls4me’s article and read about the changes. There are a couple of products that look similar to Light as Air. Light as Air is not available at their home site either. Best wishes to the Beekman Boys and their team. Happy Easter to all.

Thanks for the news, Dolls4me. In my experience, this never goes well. New owners always make changes, rarely for the better.
-
I agree, that would explain their new scents aren’t great and have little fragrance. Whenever companies sell out it is always for the worst — I put Philosophy and IT cosmetics in this catagory.

- AMEN Sister!!

I just read that the company sold majority stakes in December 2021 to 2 different companies for $92 million dollars.
Schenectady-based Beekman 1802 selling majority ownership to European investment group

I read that they sold out to three companies who are taking the brand global, and that the Boys are
being kept on as “storytellers”. I’ve been waiting for quality to go down, as it always does when a small company sells out…..and I’m already seeing poor quality cloth in the wipes, compared to the old sturdier cloth. And I’ve seen recent reviews complaining about this, too. -
The handcreams are total water filled and do not last. Not at all like a few years back.
-
I have been worried about quality issues since learning of the sale. It happened with Bare Minerals, Philosophy, Tova. All changed when bought by conglomerates. Time will tell.

Thanks for the info and link, Dolls. It sounds like a good thing for the Beekman Boys. Hoping they hold on to that personal connection they do so well.
