Nellies washing soap????
The soap has formed rock hard clumps that do not dissolve in the washing machine and are nearly impossible to break into smaller pieces.
Any suggestions to resolve so that I can continue to use?

I’ve had Nellies for at least 3 years with no trouble. You only use a scoop full.

After reading these reviews I won’t be buying any Nellies soap.
I will stay with Arm and Hammer. -
Hi sknigirl
Get an empty gal jug, add hot H20 & the powder and cover & shake shake shake lol Depending on your strength-a full gallon weighs 7lbs!! @ 70, I only fill half full.
I found recipes online, and now make my own. Use food processor to shred the soap. Easy, and surprisingly inexpensive!! . In winter I make it a liquid, cause lake Michigan water is very cold, and summer make it as a powder.-
Hi Sherryrose! How are you? Well thanks for the tip…as always you’re a wealth of knowledge. I appreciate you!

I responded to your “soap dilemma” because I feel i sorta know you. I want to tell you how sometimes words from a kind person can affect another. I am going thru something horrible, and your kindness/compliments helped me today. I smiled for the first time in weeks. I thank you.

Awww, Sherryrose sorry to hear that. Hang in there. Wishing you the best.

You might try taking a clump and soaking it in hot water or vinegar for a couple days and see whether it breaks up. If so, then pour the “liquid” into the washer as needed.

I’ve used Nellie’s or Beekman’s for years and experience the same problem if I wash with cold water. In addition, some of our dark color clothes had white streaks. I switched to warm water and it solved the clumping and streaking. My washer has 6 temperature settings and I use the setting between cold and warm.

I’ve been using Nellies for years and unfortunately, have the same problem from time to time. This happens more when I use cold water in the winter months than it does in the warmer months. If you find a work around let me know because I have no clue.
