Accounting Glitches
Over the last week I have had occasions where HSN’s accounting system was not able to properly debit my account for two sales. In the first sale which was $59.95 with a 10% discount offered; which did apply and it was accepted. I applied for flex payments and my first payment, including taxes was $21 plus some change. My account was debited for $32.80 which did not include the $10% discount. Customer Service said there would be a correction to the amount. On the second sale my purchase including flex pay amounted to $28.09; my account was debited twice for $28.09. Customer Service said because of the holiday week-end the sale registered when it was placed and also when it shipped. These types of glitches are a problem for me because I don’t have unlimited income. These types of debits will eventually be corrected, however a shortage could have resulted in my account. My bank takes 3-4 days to enter the correction.

The same thing has happened to me just recently it has never happened before, but I used a discount code and what was automatically billed was the total without the discount it was a larger amount.
When I called, they said that would drop off and the correct amount would be billed.
Which it did but that has never happened before at all I am always charged the correct amount from the jump this has never happened it makes no sense. I have been shopping here with the same account for years.
Also, I retuned jewelry a turquoise necklace it arrived damaged the beads were off the necklace as if it were cut. I called to make sure I was not charged the return shipping, yet I had to call again after they credited me for the return because they did not credit the shipping and part of the tax.
Something is going on with HSN’s accounting/billing department. -
I can understand your concern, especially when you’re keeping a close eye on your account balance. Whenever an item is purchased with a coupon or promotional discount, we must first obtain authorization for the full amount from the payment method used. Once the authorization process is complete, the pending amount will drop off and you’ll only be charged the discounted amount you were shown at checkout. We appreciate you sharing your experience and feedback with us.

Do you have a credit card to use instead of a debit card?
