Pants need to have the rise measurement
Every pair of pants I have bought from QVC and HSN has a high rise. Even petite. Why? Every brand is like that. There are some of us who have short torsos. I am 5’3”. Petite legs are a little too short. Regular pants have the highest rise of any pants I have ever bought. And it’s all HSN and QVC brands. I love Diane Gilman, and G brands as well as Hue and the others. But the rise is ridiculous. There are no measurements given on any of these when you order. Please consider us short girls. Not just leg length.

Here is my little secret for seeing how short or long the rise of a pant is. I do agree, it would be nice to see that item listed. I have a long rise so this is my pet peeve on how short the rise is for most of their pants on HSN except like someone said, Diane Gilman.
Look at the model or the photos when she turns around. For example, a fairly new Johan S Grey pant they show the backs side in a photo. Well you can see how the rise rides up into the models buttocks. And then if you look carefully, you see the outline of her glutes and thighs.
The riding up means it may have a shorter rise, the length is certainly short. To me this looks like a cheap, poorly fitted pant on my body. One of the presenters/designers calls this showing the “lumps and bumps” when they are on the show. On someone looking for a short rise, and shorter inseam, this pant may work for them.

Your comment is very interesting. When I see a model’s pants fit the way that you described, my thought is that she needed a size larger than the one that she is wearing.

I feel your pain. I am petite with a short waist and fairly long legs. If I order petite pants the length is too short but if I order medium length, then there is one to two inches hanging in the crotch area. This is where jeans on western websites are better regarding this issue. They always give the length and rise of all denim jeans. I often wondered why other online retailers were not doing the same. I also agree with the waistband issue. There is never enough stretch in the hip area to pull them on easily even though once you have them on, they fit good. DG2 is famous for doing this. The last time I ordered a pair of their pull-on jeans I had to return them. Who wants to spend 10 minutes in the rest room trying to pull up your jeans?

it’s time that HSN considered us petite women because I too have issues with the pants but not with the rise. My concern is pants with elastic waistbands which do not stretch. The size chart often lists the “relaxed measurement” of the waistband but not the stretch width. Sometimes these thick non stretchy waistbands squeeze the waist creating “love handles” so if I purchase a size larger, the waist may fit but the hip measurement is too wide. Actually, a tight waistband can cause problems with the rise. Also, at 5’4″, I find many of the petite inseams too long, but I have a long torso and shorter legs. Amazon has a number of lovely pants with rise and inseams often listed. I sometimes buy cropped pants in average inseam and find that they fit me better than petite sizing.
