Hosts Stating Incorrect Price Is Shameful!
I think it’s awful how many hosts tell the viewers the price of an item is $49.00 when, in fact, the price is $49.98. It’s sales tactic manipulation 101. It should be illegal (it probably is). Shawn is the worst. Instead of calling it $50.00, .02 cents away from, they take almost a dollar off the price to try to make the item sound less expensive. They should not allow this!

If you purchase an item for 40.99, after tax and shipping it will be another $10. Then if you have to return it there goes another 6.95! These days I am being much more mindful to only buy on free shipping and 5 flex pay days. Anything I buy on HSN is a want, not a need so if I say no more often, I never regret it. There are always going to be things I would love to have but I don’t want to go broke!

I don’t know if the hosts still do this, but it was a common practice to state the easy pay amount as the full price of the item. Now if ever there were deceitful sales tactics, that sure was one. Did they finally stop doing this???

I absolutely get mad/angry whenever the hosts state the flexpay as the “”..price to get it home” – and the WORST person for doing this is Debbie Denman! No, Ms Denman, I do not like it when you do that, I find it misleading and almost like a bribe to draw customers in, I would be surprized if it is not illegal! I am also NOT your “friend” and I don’t like all your demeaning comments nor the way you primp and pose. It actually shocks me how often you say “I just bought that one” and “I own it in the black and cream” or whatever – makes me wonder just how much of a discount you get! You seem to own everything! Lucky you! I have stopped watching so much because of this host and unless I have a particular interest in something being aired, I make a point of switching off every time this lady is hosting as I do not like to feel mad or angry!

They still do it! They gush loudly “and its only $9” but occasionally some say “$9 to get it home.” That $9.99 is the monthly easy pay.

I wonder how many shoppers were duped into thinking that easy pay amount was the full price? Returns are a hassle….buyers be ware!!!!

Agree it’s insulting it is bad enough they have become like a bad infomercial but then they insult us with the wrong price deliberately. It’s a poor sales tactic, how about trying the truth for a change. Like DG2 paid .50 cent for this polyester ugly cheaply made top but we are charging you 49.99 not such a bargain after all.

This has always frustrated me. It seems to me that if an item is offered at $49, a contract has been made to sell it at that price.

General statement for the majority of host on HSN & QVC. Most of the hosts do it on both HSN & QVC.
