Why the need for Lamb Leather?
There are such great vegan leathers out there, why, in this economy is Guiliana asking so much for a lamb leather blazer? I guess when you have as much money as she does, you can be tone deaf to the economic issues of the consumer. The newer vegan leathers are exactly like “real” leathers, except no animals were killed and the cost is way less. They wear just as well and last just as long.
Oh well, one less thing I have to have in my closet. I’m sure lots of people shopping at HSN aren’t furloughed federal employees or having to make decisions about either buying overpriced clothing or paying bills (of buying food, etc).

How is it insulting OR political??? Current economics are more about humanity than politics even though we all know why it’s happening.
I said it was MY choice and that I don’t understand the obsession with lamb or calf leathers. The way they are “harvested” is appalling, but to each their own. Vegan leathers are not all made the way you mentioned these days. You can quit clutching your pearls, bless your heart. Sometimes a post is just a personal question.

@Shsaron818 Vegan leather is polyvinyl chloride and polyurethane. Each is a type of petroleum based plastic or poly plastic which takes thousands of years for PU and PVC leather to biodegrade. Enough said.
As for G by Giuliana, she manufactures both real and vegan leathers. Her clothes are fashionable, well made and great quality for the price. Your message takes a turn from product to politics and quite frankly, insulting to many.

My cats are obligate carnivores. I, however, am not. I do not eat baby animals (lamb, veal, etc). I do eat meat, but i keep it down to a minimum. And I do not wear animal skins. It’s my choice. I honestly don’t see the obsession with wearing leather and fur. Especially since the vegan and other non-animal materials are so great. They are also way less maintenance and less expensive all the way around, without being an obvious alternative.
It’s a personal choice but i wish the NON-ANIMAL choices were made available by people who profess to care.

Personally, I would never even consider purchasing a lamb leather blazer, but if I wanted one, I would wait until the clearance sales begin in December. That blazer will be less than half of what it is going for now. Poor little lambs really have it rough in this world. They are such gentle creatures and do not deserve what certain people will do to them in order to make money.

Hundreds of thousands of yards of good are purchased every year. They need to use that yardage to creat purses, blazers, luggage, etc…. I think it’s despicable. I don’t purchase it nor will I watch the presentations.

People eat lamb and feed lamb to their pets, so it makes sense to use the leather, too.

Correct and I agree. Any lamb meat you eat is from young sheep. Hence, it is called lamb. Otherwise you’d be eating mutton. As per Ennui, if those lambs are slaughtered for food, the leather can be used for other things instead of being wasted. For those who prefer not to eat or wear animal products, that’s fine. But if you eat lamb and other meats, then you shouldn’t object to the leather being used for clothes, etc. As for the jacket, it’s much too expensive for the quality.
