Does HSN Drug Test?
I don’t watch mush of QVC or HSN anymore but when I do I can’t stay long. I am a fan of Rhonda Shear and was looking forward to watching her Monday night, but Suzanne Runyun ruined it for me. After several minutes I had to turn it off, I was having trouble breathing and my blood pressure spiked, I chest felt like I had an Anaconda squeezing my chest. She was tweaking or something, it was scary. I turned on the closed captioning and it was scrolling so fast I could read about one or two words before the next sentence came up. This seems to the normal for QVC and HSN now, manic blithering with everyone talking over each other, or someone interrupting someone in the middle of a spiel to say something goofy.
If I walked into a store and the staff behaved like this I would leave the store immediately. I may be unique in that I don’t like manic sales people. I don’t want someone talking loudly and and behaving aggressive, talking so fast the it frightens me. I can’t believe that the management at HSN thinks this is a good way to sell anything. I think they sell in spite of these people, not because of them. I felt sorry for Rhonda Shear, you could tell that she was uncomfortable and alarmed just like most people watching were.

Yes Ladies… very well said. HSN management really needs to step in with ALL of these questionable hosts if they want to keep their loyal customers happy.
Remember, HSN literally depends on US, the CUSTOMER.
If we stop buying, the cannot sell any more.
So our input should be valued by HSN and necessary host changes should eventually be made. Fingers crossed
In the meantime, I focus on the fun shows and the pleasant hosts (such as Callie Nortjagen, Tamara Hooks). -
I have an issue with the host that says “you guys’ 100 times. Especially when she says “I want you guys to get this” I never watch when she is on.

I get frustrated by the hosts that talk over the vendor’s rep or the designer. I can’t watch. I change channels. Some of the hosts are calmer but almost all of them use the line “many of you are buying two so don’t wait, order now” or “we are so busy on the phones, so use the QR code on the bottom of your TV screen.” These heavy sales pitches work. Next time, notice how your brain starts to react, like questioning do you need this item or should you buy it. Pure sales pitch but that is their job. .

You are so right. I stopped watching HSN and QVC a few months after merg4ed and got rid of all the fashion icons. Now they have a bunch of nothing and the “new” hosts are obnoxious. Sorry to say. I can’t stand everyone talking over each other and the hosts always admiring themselves. I’m so happy I found alternatives to HSN and QVC but I still connect with Community.

OR an alcohol test! Suzanne is like that with all the vendors, even Jay King, Curtis Stone, the rep from Jambu shoes, and all of the vendors she broadcasts with..She talks over all of them. There are some shows I really look forward to seeing, but when she is on, I have to change the channel..seriously HSN please tell her to tone it down or decrease her ‘commission’. ty

oh Ladies ….. I feel exactly the same way. Some of theses hosts seem to be so full of themselves… some of them seem to be under the influence…. they just don’t let the valued VENDORS speak. How RUDE that is!
this is getting to a point where HSN Management needs to step in. we loyal customers would definitely appreciate it. -
Agree. Hosts are so full of themselves. It’s really disgusting. I ve quit watching so .any segments…..Tone it down people and let guests talk about their product……

Hi happy. I am the same way. I do not like high pressured sales whether on HSN or for that matter any retail establishment. I cannot count how many times I left a dressing room and walked out of that store never to return. Aa you probably know, the previous management had a beautiful line of clothing, jewelry, chefs, etc. where you could ooh and ah. There was no hard sell, but rather more of a discussion on the material, length, how to clean, and the models would come out showing other garments that would go with that particular item. The management today thinks the hard sell works wonders. After-all, they want people to purchase and being a “barker” brings the customer in. The only time I listen to a presentation is the video after it is televised. Most often I let the item speak for itself.

Hucksters abound! It’s grotesque really.
