IT'S FRIDAY. ALMOST TIME FOR TRIVIA. DECEMBER 29. 2023
Not only is it almost time for Trivia, but this is the last Friday for 2023. New adventures await us in 2024. It will be interesting to see if there will be a Trivia game in the New Year. And, if not, we will continue our own game right here. conversation included.
December 29th is officially Pepper Pot Day as well as Tick Tock Day.
Today is the 363rd day of the year, and there’s only 1 small days left until the end of 2023!
Today is also preparing for New Year’s Eve. So, sit back. Take that load off your feet. It’s fun time from 8 pm to 9:30 pm. See ya later Trivia players and for those who just want to sit back and enjoy the posts. Remember, anyone can ask questions. But, also, you must know the correct response for folks like me, who think they know, but get it incorrect most of the time.

Hi jmc. So happy that I was able to put a smile on your face. My parents would have remembered the black phones if I remember correctly, the colored ones started with the princess. We definitely need to smile more and to laugh often.

You used a rotary phone?
Your phone hung on the wall and had an extremely long cord (always tangled)?
Your milk, eggs, and other dairy products were delivered by a milkman?
The Fuller Brush man, the bread man, and the encyclopedia salesmen were three of the many door-to-door salesmen that would visit your home?
You met your friends on the corner in the evening to have ice cream from an ice cream truck?
You made coffee in a percolator?
You got under your desk for atom bomb drills at school?
School papers were copied by mimeograph with the acidic-smelling purple ink?
You called a refrigerator an ice box?
There used to be no swearing on TV?
You found phone numbers in a phone book or dialed information?
You called a number to get the correct time?
Calling the operator to place a long-distance call?
Phone numbers began with a word?
You collected S & H Green Stamps for purchasing household items?
Nurses dressed in white?
You had to adjust the TV antennas to get a good signal?
Wrapping the TV antenna in aluminum foil to get a better signal?
The television was black and white and signed off at midnight?
Riding your bike without a helmet and in a car without a seatbelt?
Playing outside all day and only coming in when the street lights came on?

Drinking orange-flavored Tang, made popular on John Glenn’s space flight?
Squeezing the packet of dye into the margarine to make it yellow?Hope you smiled and laughed as I did on some of the above. However, I do remember party lines at Grandparents home. They had to wait and wait and wait for the other people to get off so they could make calls. However, there were times that you could join in to say hello. Oops, did I just age myself?????😀🤣😎
-
I see these in some movies but I do dress up to go shopping. 🎈😎😉
I like the way you did this.

Thanks Sheba. I still dress up for movies and the theater. Most in Florida are casual. Some too casual.

It’s that time. I have the first question for the evening.
1. When was the first time that crystals were used on the new years ball?
2. When did the New Year’s ball drop in Times Square?
