Marlawynne bomber jacket…..
I got the black bomber jacket with welt pockets. Does anyone know how to open up the pockets on this jacket? I saw the host and models putting their hands in the pockets. The pockets on mine are sewn closed. I like the jacket but would like to be able to use the pockets.

Yes, I’ll tell you how to open the pocket top. The reason quality made garments have the pockets sewed in is to keep them laying flat. Same as the bottom vent on a jacket being tacked down. So all you do is carefully unstitch the little seam holding the pocket closed. First I kind of open up the pocket laying it flat on my lap, open the opening with your hands to see what you are doing. Or sometimes you can see the pocket stitching from the inside of the garment and you can go that way but if there is a lining, you probably can’t. You can buy a seam ripper (what the tool is called) and use that or you can use little nail scissors or a cuticle remover. I tend to cut the stitches and then use my fingers to pull out each little stitch. A seam ripper is made to slide under the stitch and cut it. Be very careful not to cut the fabric. That is why I try to lay it in my lap or on a table and open the pocket area up and use a good light. In some garments, they make it big wide stitches that are easy to cut out or pull out. In other garments they still use regular seam stitches and it takes more care and time to remove.
