LG Smartphone Tracfone is going out of business.
LG Smartphone Tracfone is going out of business this year. What is this going to mean to those of us who bought LG Tracfones from HSN and QVC? And why are you still selling them?

I found out today, AFTER BEING ON THE PHONE FOR 4 HOURS, TEXTING FOR 4 HOURS, that my Tracfone will not receive calls or make calls. So, our Tracfone’s will just be expensive door stops. Verizon bought Tracfone and now Verizon wants us to UPGRADE to their system and phone’s.

It’s still me Bionic1111… update.
I did the following with help from google community…
Go to Settings,
Connections,
Mobile Networks,
Volte calls “ON”,
Network Mode change to “LTE/CDMA.”This worked and now I can make and receive calls.
I realize it may not work for all of us.

I think you can still use them, they are just not making any more , that’s all.

They won’t be updating them anymore. They will stop working just like your computer will stop working if it is not receiving updates. Tracfone confirmed this. LG confirmed in several articles on the internet.

LG closed its mobile division, but current devices will keep receiving firmware updates until the summer of 2025.
A computer does not stop working if it doesnt get updates.I have one that is over 20 years old and it still works.I wouldnt use it online for security reasons but otherwise its fine.
A lot of phones still have 3 g on them and those will stop working regardless of the brand soon if not already. You will need 4 g at minimum.
