Anyone else so tired of these?
A decade ago, when I first saw this heel, I was in awe and just had to have that pink gladiator sandal with the silver piping (and I still think that pair looks great) but something about Vince Camuto’s version just doesn’t work for me. I see the shoe and it looks absolutely fabulous until I see that heel! UGH! Any other heel type would probably make me have to have that shoe, but that cone heel just ruins it for me. :smileysad:
Sorry gals, 100% not with you here. Still love the shootie style and think it’s moving at full speed into the forefront of today’s shoe market as it provides a lot of high heel look without the high heel and it’s comfortable as all get out. I thought it was quick to follow a spring/summer VC shootie with a fall version but I think it’s such a great shoe style, I get it. I loved the Today’s Special and could have it in each and every color but the one I wish they would repeat is the deep, husky olive brown suede found in last years’ boot. The cone heel along with a chunky, stacked heel is all I want right now in my closet.
Me too, don’t like the CONE. It’s neither old, new, trendy, on trend, cute, fashionable, sexy, or comfortable.
Where did it come from anyway? I can’t remember if it ever was ever a silhouette in vogue…maybe the 40’s?
SLMangle, you must be reading my mind.
I agree, the heels are not flattering to the otherwise lovely shoe styles.
Pardon my ignorance, but I should amend my post. I just noticed this is not a boot but a ‘shootie’. I’m sure a cut out toe is prefectly acceptable among ‘shooties’. I’m not aware of ‘shooties’. Sounds like something you should call 911 for. The fashion police are probably on their way to my house even as I write. Can I use my HSN gift card for bail?
I don’t have a lot of fashion savy, so I shouldn’t comment. I didn’t even notice the heels. I saw the cut out toe on a boot and started laughing. That just looks silly. I liked the stitching and zippers and suede. But a cut out toe on a boot? Sorry, guess I have a lot of catching up to do on style. Takes a while for things to grow on me, but I don’t think this is going to make it.
I just saw the TS for today and said yuck! I personally can not stand open toe ankle boots, for me they look ridiculous on. Why an open toe as a TS for this time of the year? I’m gearing up for Fall and Winter, I’m not looking for open toe right now, just doesn’t make sense to me.
I like the heel. I am not a fan of open toe boots.
I just bought a few Tony little I am all set for winter.
only comfortable shoes for me now.
I have only owned one pair of boots (that I absolutely love, that I got during the summer a few years back at 70% off). I still love this heel type, it is comfortable for me to walk in.
I’m with you, I’m so over the cone heel.
