Wolfgang Puck rice cookers…what’s the differnce between regular and portable
I’m thinking of ordering the Wolfgang Puck small rice cooker but can’t decide between the regular one and the portable one. The specs are the same and from what I can tell, the only difference is the handle. Does anyone know if there is any difference? :catindifferent:
The main difference between the full size rice cooker and the portable is the full size rice cooker gets much hotter. You can just as easily cook smaller meals or smaller amounts of rice in the full size rice cooker. I have 2 which I have had for about 5 years and I love them. The full size is really goof proof! Although the instructions say to hand wash, I put everything in the dishwasher except the base with the heating element. Both units are heavily used and after 5 years are still going strong. You can’t beat making Mac n cheese from scratch in this rice cooker. I make all types of rice and it always comes out perfectly. I would highly recommend the full size WP rice cooker. Right now it is out of stock but I’m sure will be back in a week or so.
You must be my good luck charm! I made my first good ‘meal’ in my cooker the other day and…it INCLUDED RICE!!! I actually was at the point where I didn’t even measure anything. I just ‘threw’ in a couple things I usually do on the stove and…it was fine!
Also Padfoot…I went to the Youtube site and watched some of the vids. Thanks for mentioning them…
Hi, I don’t have the rice cooker. Just do it the old fashioned way, but when I read these posts they sounded familiar. I entered rice cooker into the search bar where it says Ask a question or search conversations on the Community forum home page–right above the threads, not high on the page where you search for the products.
At least 9 other threads about Wolfgang’s rice cooker already exist. You might some of you info there. I do remember people having problems with the measuring cups, etc.. Hope this helps.
I believe they are the same item with different product numbers. You’re correct in that one looks as if it doesn’t have a handle, but I’ve personally never seen Wolfie use his cooker without one. I’m thinking perhaps the photo on the white one just doesnt show it? I say this because the colors on that page and the colors offered on the other item are different.
I have the white one and it does have the handle…but yes…it does seem odd. Posting this question in Customer Service will call attention to your question and a moderator will surely be able to answer this for you.
Hope this helps…:womanhappy:
