Robert Irvine Mandoline Slicer, took the side of my finger off, going to be disfigured…
Yes, the knobs fell off and I put them in the down position and read the manual…went to wash it and the large "V" shaped blade which is very high and wide took a large chunk of the side of my ring finger off…nedless to say…blood everywhere, 911 and a hefty er visit. 2 doctors, 2 hours to sew the flap back on almost to the bone and down to the first knuckle. Luckily there was a flap or I could have lost the top of my finger. I know "TMI" If it does no adhere properly, I may have to have a skin graft. Wonderful.
This machine should not be on the market…I have used machines like this before and I am not That much of a klutz.
Very dangerous. TAKE THIS HORRIBLE MACHINE OFF THE MARKET HSN AND ROBERT.
I need to be compinsated in a big way...I have pictures of the progress every day for about 2 weeks now. Pain and suffering and scarring to say the least..…and on my guitair hand no less, dang!!!!!
I didn’t see your post, sorry!
I took a slice off of my thumb several months ago with a mandolin slicer, but never considered sueing the manufacturer. Instructions always indicate that you need to exercise care when using the appliance. It also specifically states that the blades are SHARP! How can you blame someone else when it was your actions that caused the injury?
I’m sorry you had such an experience, but we ourselves are often responsible for things that happen. In my case, I was slicing carrots and my finger slipped onto the blade. Who knew such a small, clean slice could cause so much bleeding? I accepted the blame for my own stupidity, threw my mandolin slicer in the garbage, not wanting to donate it to make sure no one else would be hurt, and went out and bought a food processor with minimal chance of hurting my fingers
HOW HORRIBLE. HAVE YOU SERIOUSLY CONSIDERED SUING HIS COMPANY? I PRAY YOU HEAL QUICKLY…..
What an awful thing to happen. I hope you heal quickly, and completley. I hope someone is listening to you, because you have suffered a big loss. Quality control is sad, if it exists at all anymore.
I bought one of his appliances, it started on fire on my counter when I used it!! No more of R. Irvine products for me either.
