Does anyone own one of these, and if so, how do you like it?
I’ve had one for over 10 yrs. First got one about 5 yrs before I stopped working.. Had an extremely physical job and would be exhausted when I got home. Got tired of going out to eat every night, so decided to try it. Loved it so much and needed room in kitchen so I had my husband take the stove outside LOL. Never regretted it.
The first one lasted about 5 yrs. Now with my fibromyalgia, degenerative disc disease of the spine and COPD it has been a lifesaver. That and now I have an electric pressure cooker which is even more wonderful>
The only problem with the Nuwave Oven is the dome. The original dome (don’t know whether they are putting the older style dome or the newer style dome on the ovens) would stain, and crack and had to buy a couple. Now I bought the newer style dome and it’s holding up great. Got the new dome over a year ago and no probs.
I had one a few years back and I really liked it but it didn’t last very long. It stopped working after about a year. It cooks really good and is much easier to clean than a conventional oven. I would buy another one if they offered a decent warranty.
I have one that was given to me in November. I have used it several times a day since then! And then I was blessed with winning the NuWave cooktop in April’s Customer Appreciation Month. I have the pair on my stovetop…I covered it with a board…What a great duel!
By the way, the person who gave it to me was moving and they used it for 10 years…and it still runs great today!
I got one branded Sharper Image from HSN when it had gone on clearance. I was using it like crazy for a while and then slacked off…I really want to get back to using it. There are quirks that people need to learn when using these types of devices but once you understand how it works it’s fine. I got a set of pans and racks from the South American River store (asked for that as a Christmas gift a couple years ago)…it was not cheap but gives me all sorts of pans to cook on.
Oh…this model of oven has made several appearances on HSN but branded with different names (currently available in the Robert Irvine collection AND is on sale) this oven is the type with the glass bowl.
p.s…also as the **bleep**or brand too.
p.s.s…oh ya, I forgot that the system will not allow us to name the brand that just got bleeped…you’ll have to figure it out on your own.
Nuwave ovens are great. I used to buy the Jet Stream Oven by American Harvest then they switched to being made in China – their quality went way down I used to blow through one every year. The last one I bought only lasted 6 months and died. The company was good about replacing it, but then again it barely lasted 1 year. So I went with the Nuwave oven – was different and I didn’t care for it at first, but once I got used to it performing a little differently it was great. The Nuwave oven is a quality built machine – granted its made in China – but seems like the quality is still there. Our first Nuwave oven is still working – but the pan and cover was getting difficult to clean after 6 years. So I opted for a new oven – since figuring the cost of the pan liner and the cover. In fact in my opinon the first Nuwave Oven I had the liner pan was an aluminum and was a bear to clean, was a bit on the flimsy side. THEY ACTUALLY IMPROVED the machine – by have a nice weight liner pan that was an enameled easy clean pan liner.
My Nuwave Oven is still going strong – I did purchase a Cook’s Companion Air Fryer/Nuwave (clone) with a rotessiere function – we will see how we like that.
I do like these types of ovens they cook well, don’t heat up the whole house in the muggy summer not to mention the cost of heating up a big oven.
I love my Nuwave burners and cookware. I think you will be very happy with the Nuwave Oven. Their website has oddles of recipes.
Good luck, have fun with your new kitchen toy!
I love mine and I bought three more for my kids. I love roasted vegetables and the Nuwave cooks them to perfection. I also like to reheat food in them, so much better than a microwave because they brown.
Forgot – I bought a knock off the the Sharper Image – like Robert Irvine has – they are glass lid and they are HEAVY…If you are someone that has arthritis in your hands/wrists – consider the heft of those types of infrared cookers. The Nuwave Oven is light, easy to clean – the lid comes apart easily for cleaning
SLMangle, Hi, My wifes mother gave us one of these. My wife loves it! she cooks almost anything in it. We think its awsome!
