Ming Tsai Tongs fell apart
Only the second time using them. I dropped them and the tong part broke off right above were they are riveted on. I see that they are no longer sold, I can see why. Unfortunately, I can’t get my money back, it’s been too long. Cheap, very cheap, poorly made. Very unhappy.
Ming, don’t don’t put your name on garbage products. Now I can’t trust anything with your name on it. Think twice about even little things like tongs, it affects your image.
Sorry to read this! Have you checked out WGP products? Awesome! Me and the two others I purchased them for love them!! Stainless Steel. Mine have stains/stained but they are very sturdy!
Hi Caligirl! Do you mean Wolfgang Puck? Yes, I have a set of his cookware. Love the odd shapes, but the cookware itself is cheaply made and the rivets I am guessing are uncoated aluminum. I love them as my everyday “knock around” pans. I do have extremely fine expensive stainless steel pans and trust me, holding one of Wolfie’s pans up to one of those , you’d think Wolfie’s were disposable. But I also paid a high price for those fine pans. Not worth it for the every day cook. His pans are fine for the price though.
So, I too love WGP pans, just cooked up a lovely pot roast in one of his unusual pans tonight. 🙂
Unusual pans? I have the set of 20 something, the one with the huge wok! a few others that DO NOT have lids UGH!! LOL. It is a shame not much is American Made …
Sorry this happened to you, Myra1. I sure hope he isn’t going down the cheaper manufacturing path.
I hope not southernlights, I love Ming Tsai. I was saddened when he didn’t make Iron Chef, he was robbed. I just don’t know if this represents the quality of his cookware or why he would put his name on these things. I was just too lazy to return them, but they really were a disappointment when I got them. Now, destroyed after only 2 uses.
I threw out Ming Tsai’s pots and pans, the copper ones, they were terrible. I ended up investing money in really good stainless steel cookware, I bought one here and there, and have not been disappointed and I love them. I do like Ming Tsai, and I still have his knives, they are not very sharp, but then that is my fault. I won’t buy any cookware on HSN again.
