Many QVC and HSN products are manufactured in China- not in the USA.

Celebrity chef products are overpriced and manufactured in China rather than the USA. To add insult to injury chefs add shipping and handling and taxes to the bill. The chefs are rich enough to afford absorbing the manufacturing and shipping costs of their products. We should support moving production to the USA to overcome these horrendous trade imbalances that have existed far too long.
What are your thoughts?

No matter how rich the chefs are, they are doing this for the money. They are not going to absorb the cost that is now going to be passed on to us from tariffs. EVERYTHING is going to be going up in price. If it’s not from the tariff WE’RE paying for, and they were to start manufacturing here, we’d be paying more anyway to pay the workers here.

Thanks for replying to my post. I must confess that over the years I have purchased many products from HSN and QVC. I wonder, do the chefs read these posts? Let’s see how the economy fares with or without tariffs over time. We can agree to disagree in a polite manner.

Doubt you want to pay the price of Made in USA. All Clad except for certain large capacity items and roasting items are made in the US. Vitamix are made in the US and KitchenAid are assembled in US from parts made in China all have high costs because they are paying US workers.

  It’s hilarious that you think these celebrity chefs have much control of the business side of things. Maybe they make a few suggestions on cookware to the manufacturers , but thats it.
  They put their name on it, do some on-air demos, and get a big fat check.
  And for those of you too dumb to realize, pretty much all the celebrity chef food sold on HSN is just Rastelli’s food from QVC , re-branded with the HSN celebrity chefs name on it.
  It’s not like Curtis Stone has his own food warehouse somewhere processing food for HSN.

  Thank you. I have been saying this for years. Unfortunately, there are still many viewers who think that celebrity any thing is actually being overseen by the celebrity. I am sure that some of the celebrities maintain a level of control, but most of them do not.
