Lorena Garcia Skillet
I bought her skillet like today’s Special, but it did not come with recipes (I was disappointed that she did not include any of the recipes that she was cooking on air). I really need them! 🙂
How do I get a set of the ones that she is now including with the skillet?
zinfandel1, I’m sorry for your disappointment. The only way to get the recipes included with the Today’s Special is to purchase the Today’s Special. We do have a couple if Lorena’s recipes on our site.
Hi Zinfandel. Why not try the food network and food channel on line. I get most of my ideas on those websites as well. Also HSN blogs in community are very helpful.
Hi. I love Lorena’s cookware. I typed in the search box at the top of the page, Lorena recipe and it will take you to 10 recipes. Click on the recipe that looks good to you. Hope this helps.
I got the skillet as well and I found that the recipes that came with it are pretty useless. There’s a mile long list of ingredients and things I have never heard of, even on her online recipes, which none of them are for the electric skillet that I saw. What happened to the simple recipes she was presenting on air? How about a cook book with realistic meals we can make in it? I mainly bought it as a paella pan but I would love to use it beyond that.
I have some of her cookware, but I didn’t get her skillets. I have other electric skillets.
If you noticed, Lorena did not and does not cook anything during her shows, All of the cooking is done by Tracie and the other chef. – Perhaps that explains the Recipes situation.
Lorena only makes grilled cheese sandwiches … Well, not ‘make’ them .. but she places them in the pan. Once, I saw Lorena attempt a simple beef stew dish and Tracy had to tell her Every step. I don’t Lorena is real chef – I don’t think Lorena is a home cook.
I think that Joy made a deal with Lorena because she is Hispanic. I’m all for the Hispanic part, but it needs to be a Real chef or cook.
My skillet arrived today. I cleaned and seasoned it as recommended in the brochure. I had a delicious grilled cheese sandwich for lunch. It came out perfectly. The back of the instructional brochure has the suggested temps and cook times for a lot of common items. The recipe cards are for dishes I will never fix. I will use this a lot for my simple cooking needs only. I am a bit concerned that the temperature fixture might be prone to damage. My family had the same skillet the whole time I was growing up, and it took a whole lot of abuse. Fingers crossed that it lasts. So far, so good. Maybe I’ll cook a chicken breast for dinner tonight.
