Food demos are kind of disgusting
Is it just me, or is watching food demos with grease and barbecue sauce all over people’s hands kind of gross? There’s no way I would eat that. Yuck. Leave it on the plate, don’t maul it.

It’s always dangerous to generalize. But I’m sure market research on American eating habits guides HSN in its food presentations and demonstrations. You’ll live longer than most with your good eating habits!

I’m American (and more than proud to be) and I never, ever, ate sugary garbage or meats of any kind, I despise the taste as well as the idea of meat. Forced to eat it as a kid and vowed to never put it near my mouth ever again as an adult.

Absolutely disgusting. Disgusting even on the plate with no one touching. But our eating habits in the U.S. are disgusting. Animal fat, sugar, starch to the max. It’s what sells. There’s no getting around the fact that Americans like greasy meat and sugar. Can’t blame HSN for that.

I’ve always wanted to know what they do with all of the leftover food. Just throw it away?

Well, the food they maul and tear apart gets tossed. I think prepared meals are offered up to staff and crew, but remember that some food is sprayed with fake colors to make it look better on camera. I imagine some of it is inedible.

I love watching the messy bbq demos! Especially when Keri Malletto is the vendor! The Killer Grillers line is absolutely delicious!
I agree with the ridiculous cutting the meat and pushing on it to show the “juiciness”. How stup!d do they think we are? Waste of food. Curtis Stone wastes at least 100 patties each presentation just doing that very thing.

I don’t really mind them getting sauce on their fingers because like jmc said, it’s messy and that’s just how it is in real life😊 I’m not a big fan though of when they press meat like hamburger patties down to show how juicy they are and all the oils ans grease run out😬

I think it’s OK. The demo is in real time and that’s actually how it is, BBQ is sloppy but, oh so good! I have plenty BBQ’s around here so I can relate!
