I am sitting here laughing my head off at them selling this thing and that is how I feel. I ordered this, kept it (1) day and I have a sister in law who is a great cook and they kept theirs a few days and sent it back too. I am sorry this is not a GREAT PIECE OF EQUIPMENT I don’t care what they say. Don’t care how many excellent customers say this is so wonderful please it is not worth the money. Don’t like the size, you have that small basket and it is not great don’t buy this they are a waste of money. And then charge you for a darn cookbook Lord help me. The best thing it can do for you is cook already frozen foods. You can cook those in the oven LOL Gordon Ramsey, the Blue Jean Chef from the other network which is where I got mine they are the same people not worth your money. WHATEVER
I felt the same as you until I finally gave in to the hype and bought one AirFryer. The one I have does have a small basket, but it cooks so quickly that I don’t mind having to cook food in batches. My husband and I LOVE sub sandwiches made with the air fryer. I’m getting better with the timing of different foods the more I use it. I butter Italian bread and toast it in the air fryer, and it is yummy. Tater tots, steak fries, sweet potato fries all come out great.
I have 3 Airfryers that I purchased through HSN. I posted a thread under a similar heading in the Today’s Special area. Please check it out when you get an opportunity. We each have our own trials and errors. I love mine. Oh, and I do not purchase frozen foods because of food allergies. I do not use oil. Just spices.
glad you like it sharon818 baking potatoes, well that can be done in my microwave i prefer the oven they taste better, and i also did not like the warranty on the one i purchased it sucked, this may be a novelty item for someone who can’t cook that good but I do most of my cooking from scratch so it wasn’t for me awkwardly large too so i wasn’t impressed at all, glad you enjoy yours not for me though.
I’ve had mine since Philips came out with it…and I LOVE it. The basket has lots of room – I can get 2-3 baking potatoes worth of fresh fries in there with no problem. It took a little bit to get the timing down, but I do have the first one…it doesn’t have all of the timing cheats that the new ones do. I also have all of the accessories and the cookbooks from Philips and also from Allison Waggoner (on Evine). Lots of excellent tips and tricks.
I use coconut or avocado oils because I don’t particularly like the taste of olive oil on non-Italian or non-Greek food. I actually use even LESS of the avocado oil than olive…and there is no funky aftertaste at all. This is an excellent product and a great price.
BTW debbi59, the Blue Jean Chef is Meredith Laurence. 🙂
