I have SO MANY pieces of turquoise in so many colours from Jay King, and have grown to enjoy the differences from crisp clean blue to green, to a blue/green, to stones that have a beautiful brown matrix, whether they are from Mexico, Peru, Arizona/New Mexico, China, Mongolia or elsewhere, it’s INCREDIBLY HARD to decide which is my favourite of your pieces.
However, within the last year or two, you had a HUGE round Tyrone Turquoise pendant, with a gorgeous green colour, tinted with some blue, and an incredibly rich copper matrix. The size of the pendant ALWAYS gets noticed, and after someone stops me to say WOW on the size, they IMMEDIATELY comment on the colours when they realize it’s turquoise.
HONOURABLE MENTION: I ordered a ring of yours that was Sonoran turquoise, you called it “Watermarked” because of the pattern on the stone that happened when water got into the cavern when it was forming so many years ago. It was STUNNING, and I’d love to see more “Watermarked” turquoise accordingly. I sadly returned the ring because the underside was sharp on my fingers, but the stone was truly exceptional.
I am proud to own it, and proud to tell them that it’s natural turquoise, NOT reconstituted, compressed, nor colour-enhanced.
I remain firm that I will ONLY purchase your (or anyone’s) turquoise that is merely stabilized, and will NEVER purchase COMPRESSED. I am grateful that to you and HSN for including in your listings an indication whether or not items are compressed, though I wish you and Lynn (and other hosts) would mention it ON AIR when stones are compressed — coral too. Not everyone reads the details online!
My favorite would be multi gemstone with turquoise:)
Lapis, amber, and turquoise necklace and earrings:)
I just love this combo, Jay:)
Thank you for asking and take care,
My favorite pieces are the bangle bracelets with in-layed rainbow calsilica & the other one has in-layed opals (lavender, pink, green & white). I also enjoy the cuff bracelet that has 3 micro-inlayed oval-shaped opals & the center opal flips or rotates over to reveal a turquoise stone! Everything he has brought to HSN is gorgeous and a true treasure from Mother Earth! Thank you Jay!
My favorite old piece of turquoise from Jay King is a necklace pendant set of a honking piece of nacasari shaped in a 1/2 circle on a double strand of black agate with random Nagasaki rondells. My family has been instructed to bury me with this necklace…. it will come with me lol
A turquoise necklace with a large square pendant that I purchased last year.
My favorite pieces is older. It is a multi strand of old Hubei turquoise. Love the matrix in it.
Not sure where I was last May that I missed your question Jay…… anywho~ I could not possibly pick a favorite child.
For some reason I thought I would not like that faceted T/S turq. necklace in person and would end up returning but this is not the case! Wow what a stunner w/ those polished facets! I put it on and tried to talk myself out of it as I need turquoise like a hole in the head… but gems are my guilty pleasure.
What are your Tuscon dates?
Thanks for loving turquoise the way you do and following your passion. I feel so honored to have these Mine Find treasures from our precious planet.
I enjoy the bowl that I look at everyday!!!!
When will you have more?
My niece is special to me and I’d like to purchase one for her.
I am in between air time and will be going on with Robin shortly.
But what a treat to pop in here and see some great entries from you all.
I have the most fashion savvy customer base!
You all are mixing and matching, layering and really making the most of the versatility of our designs! Thank you for that~
I really hope you have as much fun with it as possible.
The solid turquoise items mentioned, and those with complimentary stones noted in your posts, really depict what our brand is all about. When my team and I design, we really do let the stone “speak” to us, and we do our best to present it to you in ways that the personality the Mother Nature puts in each one can be showcased.
Knowing that you enjoy our items, that you receive compliments on them and that you take away something from tuning in, really energizes and humbles me.
Your support and loyalty, mean a great deal to me.
Well, time to begin making my way to the set.
See you soon! –J
Very nice post, Jay. Thank you for popping in and talking with us.
I logged to HSN today (Sunday evening) to buy the 20-inch Kingman turquoise necklace and it is sold out. Then I realized I was watching a recording of a segment on tv probably late yesterday evening when you were on. I knew I wasn’t going to be awake at that time.
No wonder the necklace is sold out.
You are my favorite and the only reason I watch HSN. I don’t know what pieces I own are yours, I didn’t buy a lot because everything was so big, and I am petite so the large bold pieces don’t go with my petite frame.
Then I lost my job when the company was sold, and i have been unemployed for 2 1/2 years, so I haven’t been buying anything but I did treat myself to a Squash Blossom necklace that I bought from a trader in Wichita Kansas, I figured that would be my last and greatest turquoise purchase until I get a job. I actually went on an interview on Tuesday of last week, and the recruiter called Wednesday and told me they wanted me. It is only a 6-month contract, but I am grateful to be doing something similar to my last job. I work in the O&G industry.
Hi Jay. Two pieces come to mind. Your first picture jasper that was framed in turquoise and definitely is a picture that you wear. It still brings many complements and the other is your blue lapis watch. People stop me wherever I go and ask where I purchased it.
My favorite Jay King find is the Andean Blue Turquoise pendant with the 18 inch chain. It is a beautiful blue that goes with my Sleeping Beauty pieces. Item 516-050
Can’t play favorites! I love all my turquoise Jay King pieces. However, I may or may not have been caught drooling over my petrified wood/turquoise pieces and my amethyst/turquoise pieces!
