Technibond and Absolute
Ever wonder why HSN never incorporates some of their absolute in the technibond pieces? I find this odd. Other designers will do the absolute, but technibond won’t. I think it might be a marriage I’d like.
Maybe I’ll drop a suggestion somewhere. I highly doubt I’m the first person to inquire about this though. It just seems to make sense though.:womanfrustrated:
I only remember technibond with real stones. I bought some of that jewelry and like the presentation back then said, will hold up forever and so they have. That was years ago. I dont remember technibond with absolute. Dont think I would have liked that.
Years ago – mid to late 90’s if I remember correctly – they did have what you are describing. It was called ‘Technibond Absolute’. It was a marriage of HSN’s two flagship lines – and that’s how the hosts would describe it. They were some of the first pieces of jewelry I bought at HSN. Really nice pieces.
I’m not sure what happened, but I stopped watching HSN for a bit and when I tuned back in a couple of years ago, they didn’t have the line anymore. You can still find some Technibond Absolute pieces on auctions sites though – but they are rare and sometimes mislabeled.
I must say though that, in comparison, the current pieces for the Absolute line are much finer in quality and design than my older Technibond Absolute pieces. The vermeil also has a nicer, richer gold look to it. But then again, price wise, the older pieces were less expensive – even taking inflation into account.
Perhaps they decided to make each line more luxurious – Absolute with vermeil and high end designers and Technibond with real gemstones – and a bit pricier.
Either way, I’m still addicted to both. I think your idea has merit, and hope they do make some special TA pieces again. ??
This has been discussed before, and I don’t remember the exact reason, but it had something to do with Technibond using authentic gemstones. Could be also that they don’t (or can’t) merge two HSN patents. I hope someone from the old boards remembers and chimes in.
Good question though :womanhappy:.
