NEW JEWELRY DESIGNERS
Why can’t HSN get jewelry designers like Bixby? Designers that deals in substantial, whimsical and with sterling silver and or gold; with real stones. Not copies of jewelry that all over the market place. King baby is a start, now take it to the next level.Chaco canon is nice if you like southwestern jewelry. Bali design is not bad. But the level of Bixby or Barry Cord, Ansia Stewart this shopping channel has not reach that level. Is it the profit margin not high enough?. Jay King is a nice guy, and he seems to be stepping up in some of his designs. But give this consumer something beside mystery metals and jewelry pieces I can buy at the mall.
I admire and like the sterling silver and gold whimsical jewelry by Barry Cord who started in the seventies. There have been many before and after this designers that have follow this trend. I like jewelry that is different, with the exception of chains to hold my pendants. I like whimsical jewelry, I have a frog and gator collection from BC and the keys and heart collection from Bixby. I don’t have many pieces of jewery but what I have has not been duplicated but has been copied by others. I love looking at jewelry, I don’t have to buy to love beauty. Daus jewerly is nice I like her brooches, a friend gave me rabbit pin that I wear on a handbag.HSN has a jewelry designer on line for by the name of Mateco Bijoux. His collection is not my style, but it’s diffrent and I may purchase a bracelet for a friend graduation present. Most of the jewelry I have order from HSN has been for gifts, with the exception of one designer , everyone has like their gifts.
Jewelry Manager of this form, please for some reason when you click my name. There are jewelry items listed as my favorites, this the jewelry is nice, but I have never purchase these items. This ‘favorite is listed is a false hood. Please remove it. I Have made this request before and it was ignored.
I’ve noticed a weird trend lately. As a fan of Heidi Daus jewelry, it seems to be that several of the other jewelry designers and venders are starting to step on her design toes and do pieces that are a departure from their normal stuff and more like Heidi’s. The HSN buyers need to discourage this practice. If you plant all the same flower, you’ll have a very boring garden.
I do love Chaco Canyon. I just got the Zuni ring(409-717) for my daughter to match a Zuni pendant she was given by her Dad. The ring is signed by the artist who made it too! I have been collecting their pieces for years. Top quality & made in the USA with pride by Native Americans.
Judith Ripka jewelry all seems to look the same & is pretty pricey for what you get. But, the stuff sold on the Q is her “low-end” stuff, and she never fails to remind the viewers that her store carries things 10 times the price of things on the Q. Ok… too full of herself. She has Ripkasized herself.
I do like Carolyn Pollack…her things are made in the USA. Good quality & fair prices. I have many of her things. I have collected & worn her pieces for years.
This last Easter, the Easter bunny brought my daughter 3 silver pieces by Kenneth Johnson, Native designer. She got the turtle banded ring, turtle cuff bracelet & the matching turtle pendant. Slow & steady wins the race (through college) ~ a little reminder never hurts when it’s done with jewelry ! And she collects turtles.
I do miss the Orvieto line. I have several suites with beautiful stones. I always take pieces with me when cruising. I wish I had ordered more, but I didn’t realize they were leaving. Oh well…. happy for what I do have ! I wish HSN would bring them back.
I agree with Josephinea, I love the variety of jewelry they have here. I love Emma Skye and I love Victoria Weick. I like Barbara Bixy too. I just purchased a ring from Q a few weeks that was actually under$100.00 On a TSV. I enjoy her jewelry and you are correct they are very sunstantial pieces. I do purchase jewelry from all 3 HSN, Evine , and Q. At times you can get Barbara Bixby pieces at T J Maxx, Judith Ripka too.
unfortunately, i think that most of the jewelry vendors that you mentioned have existing contracts with qvc, for example. given this, i think that so far hsn is doing a very fine job scouting out diverse talent. if it were all the same, life would be boring. love you and your suggestions teardrop!! keep them coming!! stay motivated and have our best interests at heart, my friend. xoxo.
