Jewelry That Has Been Returned
I wish that HSN would make available to purchase jewelry that customers have bought and returned for one reason or another. I know that I just ordered a ring and sent it back but now I wish that I had kept it. Unfortunately, the ring was not put back into stock to be purchased again so the size that I ordered is no longer available because it was the last one in my size. Once something is sent back, I think HSN should put it back for re-purchase.
I have received several things that were obvious returns…in jewelry, kitchen, and fashion. They do restock and resell. I have no problem with that if the items have been checked and are in new condition. When they have obviously been worn, and some even damaged they should mark them AS IS if they resell. I think that the Quality Control department needs to set some standards for returns. This does not leave a favorable impression with the customer, especially if the item is not on sale or marked clearance. It should be brand new and never used or worn. I have to say that HSN customer service has always been very helpful in these situations. Sometimes I still end up disappointed because the item I need replaced is sold out.
Yep! They send the Returns back Out.
Jewelry is one thing. Bedding, intimate apparel and kichen itens are on A Whole ‘Nother Level! …. I am really afraid to make purchases from channels. If I don’t buy it at First airing. …. Forget About It!
The customers of Shopping Channels would be Better served if these Channels had Strict Categories.
As Is ……………. Means Used. or Damaged.
Clearance ……. Means new or Returns in ‘new like’ condition
New. …….. Always Mean Brand Spanking NEW.
And, Do Not accept returns from cusyomers uness te item is in ‘new like condition. If defective, sell it ‘As is’ or send it to the outlet.
I have purchased a lot of clearance items that were clearly returned and resold to me. Most of the purchases were previously sold out purses, so I’ve been thrilled to get the them even if they don’t come in the original packing or the dust cover is missing (which most of time it is). Customer service has been great (female reps) in my interactions with them. I think when buying from the clearance items (don’t know if your ring was) it is safe to assume I may get a return. I sincerely hope you get your ring, Spledid!
I have bought several items jewelry, clothes and handbags that were returned, I could tell because I found a hanky and cigarette pieces in a handbag and clothes with on tg on them. They put most back in inventory. I dont mind as long as they clean then up before selling them again
There is an exception to the sale again on a used item.
Let me tell you what makes me go crazy with inventory at HSN. This has happened to me more than once.
My name is placed on a wait list for product XYZ. I receive an email that my order has been canceled by HSN.
Several days later, the product XYZ appears on HSN when I search for it.
In other words, the Buyers are canceling orders to make the wait list appear it is in within its time frame. I get it.
Here is an example. I went on wait list for a Carol B Key Fob 379-951. HSN sent a cancellation notice. Several days later, can you guess what was inventory on HSN? You got it right! It was item 379-951. So, I purchased again my item that I had waited for several weeks.
I was a Buyer for 13 years. I observe the methods used by purchasing, inventory control, and shipping at HSN.
I’m sure jewelry items are resold. I”ve received such items in altered packaging. I bet the ring
you returned was on waitlist for somebody else and it just went right to them vs hanging around
People wake up & smell te coffee! When merchandise comes back it just goes back into inventory. Most of us send back unused merchandise. But there is always people who take advantage. When an item is returned do you really think anyone inspects each single piece, with volume of returns coming in every day. You really never know if something was worn unless it is grossly obvious as stated in some of the previous statements. HSN does not do as is products only QVC.
I don’t mind receiving a returned item IF I didn’t pay full price for it, in other words if it’s a clearance or ‘as is’ item, then I know to expect that it was probably a return. What really bothers me is if I pay full price plus shipping and handling for a ‘new‘ item and I receive an item that has been clearly ‘used‘. It drives me crazy. I just returned a pair of DG2 comfortwaist jeans just for that reason. They were clearly washed and put in a non-DG2 plastic bag, they went right back in the mail, I just couldn’t keep them.
Several years ago I received a pair of on sale DG2 jeans I had to have. You know the feeling…. They arrived visibly worn and had $40 in one of the pockets. I called CS and they told me to keep the money as they had no mechanism to return it. It paid for my jeans but I always felt uncomfortable keeping the cash.
I will pass on this idea.
If I want used up, banged up stuff like the items I have received in the past from HSN, I will find my way to Good Will, the Salvation Army, or a garage sale.
Thanks, but NO Thanks.
oh, come on. Of course they DO resell jewelry items. That’s how items reappaear after being totally sold out.
I think that they Should ReStock and Resale. If I purchase an item from Clearance, then I accept the possibility and probability that it might be a ReSale. But if not on Clearance and if Not advertised as ‘As Is’ or ‘ReSale’. … It should be Brand New.
Call customer service about that. I usually find returns in the clearance tab and you will see it marked "as if." If they get a lot of returns for the same item, I think they see them in bulk to buyers who gobble these deals up.
Also check ebay and Amazon. I have seen things I wanted on HSN that was sold out on ebay. Just cut and paste the item info and do a search. Good luck!
I dont have a problem with a reeturn item if like new–I had to return a stretch bracelet that was obviously worn and stretched out–when I got the replacement it was nice and tight fitting—I should have never received the first one—it was kind of uncool—Please check what you send out to people—the person who had item before me probably wore it over the holiday season and sent it back—ashame people do that
That ‘ Pre- Sold, ‘ Return code ‘ IS good to know. HSN Should Publicize it!
Apparently, they are aware that they are sending out Used items. But they put the Burden on the customers to notice it and Return the item. …. Rather than HSN market and advertise the item as a Used item. Most times the customer will just keep it. But if the customer says ‘this is usedl … HSN pretends it was an error, and offers a replacement. – HSN wins either way. – The code is probably for HSN to determine if more of the Used items are Returned than the actual ‘new’ items.
It is why I stopped purchasing as often as I used to do. I can’t Trust the merchandise.
HSN Please Document in My Profile : Do Not Send Me Used Stuff!
