Is anyone buying Joy’s jewelry kit
This one looks nice. I have two of her earlier ones which I like. I do not need another one but this set looks nicer.
JM owns part of HSN, hence, why would HSN exercise quality control on JM’s propducts? It would be akin to stabbing onesself.
I would strongly advise against purchasing this item. I bought one when it was a today’s special and I honestly cannot believe HSN sold a product of such poor quality. Here is a summary of all the top 10 flaws:
1. Black oil smudges all over the outside of the box and trays
2. Glue streaks all over the inside of the trays
3. Terrible smell
4. Terrible materials (the "saffiano leather-like" material is cheap vinyl and the interior of the trays are covered in a very flimsy foam that easy punctures)
5. The trays are too large to easily fit in the cases
6. The mirror appears to be plastic – it’s extremely distorted…like a fun house
7. There are not nearly enough dividers for the trays and those that are included do not fit well
8. The trays do not stack properly
9. The case has no structure and collapses when open and/or empty
10. The case lid has ribbons attached at the side meant to keep the top propped open – the ribbons are two different lengths and the top does not stay open
Quality control for this product is non-existent. At this point I feel HSN owes an apology to the thousands of people who bought this item. I would never have expected them to deliver such an inferior product to its loyal customers. I would expect to see this product on the clearance shelf for damaged items at TJ Maxx for $5 not as a Today’sSpecial on HSN.
In short, I would not recommend this product. Literally ANYTHING else would be better. Anything.
I got a set for my daughter in California and she said she was going to send it back because the trays were hard to get in and out of the cases. The top didn’t stay open and it was just more than she had room for in her new apartment. I thought this would be a win but after reading what everyone is saying here, it looks like it isn’t.
Just got these yesterday, was really excited opening them this morning butttttt that was short lived. First off I ordered the white, immediately I noticed there was a finger smudge on the box one right on top, ok I let that go, then I opened the first zipper box, it was a bit tight, trays inside seemed a tad too big, mirror seems a little cheap and distorted, again I let that go as i liked the colour, shape etc but when I opened the second zipper box the little zip handle broke of and where it’s attached literally disintegrated into my hand lol that was the last straw. i just packed it up and am sending it back asap. Disappointed because I wanted to love it but when something falls apart upon first use then that’s it. I know it didnt cost a fortune and maybe "you get what you pay for" but still it should at least last a while, hopefully this just happened to me and not other people too because they are pretty and a good concept:)
Just got mine. Horrible smell when I took it out of the package and my chest is actually hurting from handling the product! Keep in mind I do have horrible allergies, but it is not a good sign when I have this bad of a reaction. I currently have it airing out in the garage and will see if it is any better later or tomorrow.
Unfortunately, I ordered 2 sets, so when the other one arrives I think I am just going to send it right back because I don’t think the people I had in mind to give it to will like it. I was thinking of keeping the other just for me and maybe using one of the kits for jewelry when I drive to stay with my parents. However, the smell is a deal breaker so if that doesn’t improve I’ll just go ahead and pay to send it back.
The top tray had a large place for rings, then 1 long divider and 2 small dividers. The 2nd tray had 2 long dividers and 2 small dividers, the bottom tray only had 2 long dividers. The only tray I had trouble getting out was the bottom one. Haven’t tried fitting that one back in yet. The top 2 trays went in and out fine. I had no trouble with the zippers. The top of the extra box only had an extremely thin liner and was not padded like i had thought.
The case actually looked a bit sturdier than I imagined after reading other’s comments; however, I don’t know how much structure it would keep without the trays in it. The only item from Joy I have been happy with is the hangers so I should have known better.
Just got mine. Where are all the dividers they showed on TV? I could only find 2 for each box. They are going back.
According to Reviewer(s), the trays are extremely difficult to position in and out of the boxes. Joy Had to have know it and it is undoubtedly why she never showed it during the presentation. The trays were Already out and they remained out during the entire presentation.
Joy said that she didn’t have time to put the trays in. So, she Never showed how the item works. – Huge Red Flag. It has become Ridiculous, the junk that HSN allows Joy to sell. Yea, the junk is bringing in Millions and Millions Now, but people are catching on and people are tired of it.
Let’s see what she brings tonight.
I thought they didn’t look worth the money
Those jewelry boxes look like travel makeup cases. The vinyl material over cardboard will retain heat which is not ideal for jewelry and/or makeup. I noticed that some of the boxes showed signs of rippling, similar to the Joy/Iman bags, which were leather. That said, I doubt the jewelry boxes will retain their shape. However, it’s only my opinion, and I could be very wrong, but, time will tell.
I bought the white, but not using it for jewelry. Got her white blow dyer, and will set that in one of the white boxes.
I only use Colleen’s jewelry boxes for jewelry. They have the anti tarnish.
I did not. I won’t buy any jewelry storage without anti tarnish. Did that once – huge mistake. Personally, I don’t understand why someone like Joy, who creates these "problem solving" items would miss this key detail.
I will make my purchase when they come into the HSN Store.
I wish Joy would line her jewelry storage products with "ANTI-TARNISH" linings!!!!!! How hard would this be………and how nice it would be!!!!! Lori Greiner does it with all her jewelry storage products. (QVC)
No I am not. For one thing it looks rather flimsy and most likely made in China of cardboard covered with some inexpensive material. Not even as a gift, unless I didn’t like the person.
Not at the price they are asking for it.
