Help! Adjustable bracelets
I have Joan Boyce’s adjustable bracelet with the slides. The part that slides up and down on the chain keeps sliding down. If not for the beads at the end of the chains, it would slide completely off my wrist. Am I missing something? I love this bracelet but get tired of resliding it to the top again. Any suggestions besides sending it back?
I called Customer Service and explained my problem to them. My bracelet is in the mail winging its way back to them and they are sending me a new one. I’m still shocked that I bought this because I never wanted a chain hanging on my wrist before. It’s just so pretty and sparkles and shines like crazy.
Like the other, I say send it back. Could be bad one in the bunch.
I love the adjustable bracelets, and have an adjustable necklace, too. But won’t bet any more. As with any FAD, they won’t be around for very long.
FAD jewelry is nice, but never spend too much $ on them. I believe in sticking with the tried and true.
Enjoy wearing what you have. Otherwise Grand kids will ask for them, and I can never say no. 🙂
If it’s out of stock or past 30 days, contact Joan’s office. Most of her jewelry has a warranty. A few years ago, I lost the backing to one of her earrings. They sent a box with about 10 different backings. I can’t find the phone number but I am sure you can get it from customer service. I remember that I had to leave a message on voice mail and they called back. They didn’t charge me, even for postage. Just another option if you can’t or don’t want to exchange.
I have quite a few of her slide bracelets and haven’t had a problem. I’ll pay closer attention because I’d hate to lose one.
Hi mooncat! If it were me, I’d go to a craft store and pick up some jewelry findings in the appropriate metal tone and put on a more conventional clasp with a pair of tweezers and eliminate those pesky dangles.
VelveteenRabbit, I’m afraid that is what I will have to do. The Guiltless Delight bracelet is very pretty with Joan’s Color Me Happy set, all in rose/’violet. This is one of those sets that I thought was pretty but I didn’t think I would love it. Well, I do love it. I also have the ring and earrings. I sparkle and shine! 🙂
Pammy, exchange it! I have 2 bracelets with the slide closure and they stay secure. There shouldn’t be any slippage at all. I was leary of them too until I got the first one but I love them. Think of an article of clothing with a zipper, you wouldn’t keep it if it was constantly becoming unzipped.
mooncat, I never wanted one of these bracelets either because I felt like the hanging chain would get caught in things and just be a nuisance. This is really pretty, though. I’m going to fool around with it a bit and if it doesn’t work, back it goes.
Pammy I had a gut adversion to those adjustable slide bracelets. It looks like w/ all of them just a matter of time before the silicone gives out and they don’t work anymore.
You might call a jeweler and see if they can somehow make a different clasp.
Otherwise return it asap. I’m sorry it has not held up for you, that stinks!
