Heidi Daus ‘Clearly Classic’ & ‘TS’ Sets: So Disappointed!
September 16-2015 @ 7:05-pm PDT… I am sorely disappointed because I went to the ‘Description’ of this set and see that the ‘Amethyst’ colourway describes the ‘beads’ as ‘Dark Purple’. Well, they don’t look ‘Dark Purple’ to me at all. In fact, they look quite like the ‘Aubergine’ coloured beads that I already own.
So, instead of buying, I held off hoping that she would present this set on her show today because I can never trust colours shown on the computer. As luck would have it, Heidi’s now showing the ‘Clearly Classic’ Necklace set and what does she say? She says that the beads on the ‘Amethyst’ set are ‘Aubergine’ coloured! Thus, I took a pass at buying the Necklace because I’m after a true ‘Purple’ coloured piece.
I ask you, do these beads look ‘Dark Purple’ to you? Cuz they sure don’t to me.
As long as I’m complaining, I might as well add how disappointed I am in the TS as well. Connie went on-and-on about how the ‘Brown’ was actually a kind of ‘golden south sea’ type of colour. Baloney. They don’t look ‘golden south sea’ at all. Rather, they look like Heidi’s ‘Mango’ coloured simulated pearls.
I ask you, does this colour look ‘Brown’ to you?
The same thing happened when describing the ‘Purple’ TS. Connie, once again, went on-and-on about how the ‘Purple’ was really a ‘Burgundy’ colour. (sorry, don’t have a picture of this one)
Come on Heidi & HSN… get it together… provide a name for things that describes the actual colour of the jewelry properly! Peddling backwards does not a great presentation make.
I am disappointed for another reason. I just got the so called brown and it was less sparkly than I hoped for. I also did not think the beads were her usual quality. I sent the set back. I do not think it was worth the price tag. So sorry to say that because I truly love Heidi.
Are you a Canada viewer? You spelled color "colour" 11 times… maybe it’s the variance between the two countries?
I see no issue with the colors. Between everyone’s different eyes, TV screens, computer monitors, and BRIGHT STUDIO LIGHTS, there are variances.
Just like the English language–"colour" in Canada, COLOR in the USA!
I agree that the color namings can be strange and confusing…not just in the Heidi jewelry but in the fashions as well.I would have called the today’s special in the rosy tones- merlot. That is the big fall fashion color and we all know what it means. The mango pearl one I would have called Autumn Gold or something.
Saturday, September 19-2015… Finally got a picture of the ‘Purple’ TS (the ‘Premiere Attraction’). It states in the ‘Details’—> ‘faceted burgundy-color glass beads’. Then, why call it ‘Purple’?
This, to my eye, is ‘Purple’… Heidi’s ‘Sparkling Sensation’ necklace…
While we’re at it, here’s another anomaly… on HSN, Heidi’s ‘Classical Radiance’ Earrings are called ‘Pink’. It states in the ‘Details’: ‘Violet & Light Amethyst crystals’. Does this look ‘Pink’ to you?
And, if we go on over to Heidi’s website, her ‘Poetic Radiance’ Earrings in the ‘Light Amethyst’ uses ‘Rose & Light Rose crystals’. Does this look like an ‘Amethyst’ colour to you?
no it does not at all, but it is gorgeous. And would be in purple even more so!
QVC is known to do this too….blue is green, red is orange etc….Totally insane. If you don’t know the basic colors in your coloring box, you need to let someone else do the job that does.
FaireMaiden, I don’t know if this has anything to do with it-but I’m wondering if the swarovski crystals and the swarovski CRYSTALLIZED™ elements she has used in the past own the rights to certain names. And therefore, she’s not legally allowed to use them???
Just guessing here.
I am still a lil puzzled by yesterday . was it it classified information that "purple " was not "purple" but was most likely aubergine? Was it critical not to disclose "brown" was mango? I have to confess , I was not really drawn to the TS.
However I am sure I would have purchased brown had it been brown and purple had it been purple . Not a problem though, I have much more Heidi jewelry than any of family can understand (hehe ) .
Been buying since the first year Heid came to HSN . Not took a count lately, I will just say the tally is in triple digit. I really enjoy and wear almost daily my Heidi.:smileytongue:
FaireMaiden, ThankYou so much for bringing this up. This was driving me crazy a couple of days before the event. I am a purple girl and If anything could have been called purple, it would have been the malachite.
I loved it when they brought in a coordinating bracelet(matched exactly to the brown) and the hosts still had to call the TS color brown. It was the mango you were talking about. If I were Heidi, I would have been steamed!
I ended up passing on this TS. If they cant get the correct name of the colors, who knows what other details have been overlooked. I thought it was a bad "sign" if you will.
I wanted "brown" but decided against it. I did not get anything! My eyes surely cannot be off that bad … the "brown" looks like mango, the "purple " is NOT purple . I may be wrong though, maybe my eyes are broken!
I don’t think Heidi had anything to do with what they called the colors. Having said that, the definitions are absurd and should certainly be corrected at once.
Agree completely. Why not just use the actual color? That sure IS mango, and they themselves wwere explaining how "purple" is burgundy. Why not call it what it is? What’s next, a green necklace that’s actually coral? Or, just go with "surprise color #1", "surprise color #2", etc?
Heidi, I am your biggest fan, but can we settle on names for colors that are the actual color?
I think they are reusing some of the beads but just changing names.
I totally agree with you! I know they must come up with names for each item, but the names and descriptions should be accurate. Sorry you didn’t get what you we’re looking for!
