Heidi Daus broke appears plastic not metal
I have never purchased before and tried the cinderella butterfly pin and trembling brillance. The pin arrived perfect looking and the clasp snapped off revealing a composite plastic not a sold real metal. I was surprised to see this, and now I question the brilliance necklace that arrived with a stone missing and prongs missing as well.
If these items are all comprised of a base metal plastic combination- I am not interested in wearing anything like that or high percent cadmium (toxic metal) piece. I will have to return all of the items even after giving them a good review. I want to know what is bronzetone metal?? What is it plastic or metal, and what kind of platic metal that snaps off like a piece of plastic.
I have stayed out of this conversation until I was sure…and today I am. Everything I have bought is well weighted, heavy…not plastic. And upon reading this thread…I took my last purchase, today, to my jeweler to ask him what he thought about this necklace…and he immediately knew that it was a Heidi Daus, which I thought was interesting…
He tested the metal…said it WAS brass. No plastic anywhere. And told me that the stones were Crystal, more than likely from the excellent quality, Swavorski. He also assured me that the workmanship was excellent…solid.
This is one of several pieces that I have bought. I might not have the huge collection of others here…but I have enough that I know the quality of the pieces. And Heidi stands behind them.
Fashionista, you got a piece that is damaged…send it back to HSN, or send it to Heidi to get repaired but please stop this. She is loved and admired here on HSN. She is one of the better vendors here. I hope you find a solution that satisfies you.
Hi Fashionista9. I am sorry about your negative experience with HD jewelry. To my best knowledge there are no plastic parts in her jewelry. I am relatively sure that whatever metal she uses is non-toxic because she sells the same stuff in Saks Atlanta. They would recall it, if it was toxic. I am collecting her jewelry since her 2nd year at HSN. Metal plating did change in the last 2 years and bacame shinier gold color with less patina.
Heidi did say on air that her metal was brass. Personally I doubt it. But I have not done any testing, so have no idea what it really is. HTH
I am a Heidi Collector I have several of her pins. I have never seen anything
plastic on a Heidi Daus piece. I will say I was told the bronzetone metal is
to give it that antique look.
But everyone is right when they say to call Heidi Daus and ask for Suzi.
1-888-416-6004. Sorry this happened to you I don’t own the pin you have
so i cannot see the plastic. Wishing you the best of luck.:smileyhappy:
I have sold jewelry in a family business for years and I have seen metal fittings snap in half before for no apparent reason. It happens sadly. I’m positive there is no non metal substances in the fittings. What a shame that gorgeous and expensive necklace wasn’t in perfect condition. Honestly, as this is such a special piece and you have had the bad luck of having two problems, I’d call Heidi’s customer service directly. They are most helpful and should be able to get the detailed materials information you require as well as make sure the items are repaired and put in perfect condition 1-888-416-6004. Try to talk to Suzie. She will take care of you. Cheers!
If you don’t get a reasonable answer here…which you may as there are great Heidi fanatics in the Community that know everything about her jewelry…then perhaps post this in Customer Service. I’m sure CS will go above and beyond to get your answer!! I’m thinking though that one of her long time collectors here (of which there are many)…will also know how to answer.
Or…perhaps a Moderator will see this and will also help you. HSN is great in that way!!
Best of luck!! :womanhappy:
