Calling Jewelry people – what is Hypersthene gemstone?
This gemstone seems to be popping up here and there. What is it all about?
Any experiences with it? How do you know if you receive a quality stone?

I have Raritie’s arrow pendant and I LOVE it. I don’t know much about the stone except it’s from Canada. It has a kind of shiller like labradorite. It’s almost like a dark green, really different and organic looking. I remember Shivan Sarna speaking about, maybe look through her blogs or FB page. I think it’s gorgeous, at least what I have is. People ask me what it is when they see it. Very unique!

Hi Taci, Hypersthene, now commonly known as enstatite is only a 5 – 6 on the Mohs scale so it can be rather fragile. It is found primarily in igneous rocks and some meteorites. It comes in gray, green and brown. Sometimes it has a copper-red metallic sheen or shiller.
It is often credited to help the wearer with insomnia and to help with shyness and self confidence in social situations. It is also thought to help with grumpy moods and to keep one from being overly critical.

These Hypersthene earrings are beautiful and my pair have quite a bit of shiller. They are large but quite comfortable to wear. There are two pairs left. Rarities Item #446-546.
