Bright Spring Favorites Thanks to Mother Nature!
Well spring has definitely sprung in the Northern Hemisphere. I just got back from a trip which pretty much circled the globe, and I can tell you everything is in bloom. My allergies to some of them can attest to that fact. Overall, this year so far, has been incredible. We have been able to come up with amazing new rough materials, and close some fabulous deals. As you most likely know, our process really is “from the ground up.” After all, that is where our unique materials come from. Mother Nature really is the best chef, don’t you think? A dash of this mineral, a pinch of that mineral, fire up the oven and thousands or millions of years later we get to indulge in the beauty of her recipes. Rock and Mineral Masterpieces that are the cornerstone of our business. Our good fortune thus far this year, we intend to make your good fortune later in the year. It takes time to get everything in our production pipeline and out to you, but I am hoping to have at least a portion of these new rough materials in some of our shows toward the end of the year. What you are going to see in April are designs and materials that have been in “the works” for quite some time now. It’s exciting to be on the verge of showing you, and telling you about, materials and concepts that are a labor of love and results of the time they deserve to bring them to you.
I just love this time of year. Springtime is when everything pretty much comes to life, and mother-nature performs her magic show one more time to bring us all the wonderful bright colors that have been hiding most of the winter months. This inspires us more than you can believe and really helps me personally in creating new designs. We just have an amazing new event coming your way this month. It’s often hard for me to wait in between our air dates to show you all what we’ve been up to and I always get excited as I am reviewing the items in an upcoming show. I am doing that now for the April show and I am absolutely delighted to bring you this array of stones and designs. April has a strong turquoise presence, which we are proud of since the material has become harder to acquire. There are classic styles and colors that will compliment even the most adventurous wardrobe. A nifty new bangle silhouette that I am jazzed about, and one of the most marvelous TS items you will ever see. It’s not only a fantastic value, but is also one of my favorite stone and color combinations. The finished product features a massive amount of genuine Baltic Amber, and also includes high blue turquoise. Both of these rough materials are found only in certain locations in the world, but also they are two of the most sought after materials in the world market right now. So to be able to work our magic and come up with something so stunning at an amazing value, just makes my heart sing. Being able to share our good fortune with our viewers adds dancing – my happy dance to be exact. I hope you can tune in early to see what we came up with, it was a long-term project, and I think it has early sell out potential. Of course I could go on and on listing items in the show, but will leave the rest until we see each other later this month.
It all kicks off on April 20th at 9am. We will release the TS on the 21st and continue the fun with more air time on the 22nd and 23rd. This year, for the first time, we will have a special preview show on the 24th with Adam Freeman promoting Connie Craig’s host picks from the Mine Finds line that will air on the 26th. So check the HSN program guide for the hours we will be on air and know that until then, I am a bit giddy with excitement- so much so I may dance my way to HSN this time!
I hope you can join us, tune in, and share some new adventures. Until then, safe travels. — J
Jay, your new pieces are great! I’m even more tempted than usual!
I think I bought my first piece of yours in 95 or 96. Beginning of a wonderful love affair. One of the 1st was chunks of Amber in a ‘ Y ‘ necklace with a piece of Turquoise . One of my favorite and still today always gets nice compliments is a long necklace with pink seed beads crocheted along with teal colored beads that has linear matching earrings. I love the crocheted pieces. I have a crocheted Garnet necklace of yours. As a child I would go ‘exploring’ as I called it. So now I watch you do the exploring and I reap the benefits. Thanks for the adventure. I justify to my hubby that your pieces are investments. And truly some of them are.
Jay; I just received the green opal necklace from your most recent HSN visit and It’s stunning! I know people will look at it and ask what is it? It’s obviously not turquoise. Its just a warm gentle, spring like color. Can’t wait to wear it! Went crazy on your last visit snd bought several things. I previously purchased you black opal necklace, peppermint opal necklace and maybe a yellow opal. I have so many it’s difficult to keep track. Linda H
You already know that I LOVE the pieces you bring, not just the minerals/gems, but the great designs.
I am sorry to say that I must agree with 3 out of 5 reviews on the following item, and it’s only because my review will make a full 66.66% of reviews that finds the design flawed that I wanted to drop a line. The specific item is this:
Jay King Rectangular Sonoran Blue Turquoise Sterling Silver Ring, 495-178 Jay King Sonoran Watermarked Turquoise Sterling Ring
I didn’t want to believe the first 3 reviews since the second 2 didn’t mention it, AND because I have more of your pieces and spent more money on your collection than I care to admit. However, they are correct that the gallery of this ring is a flawed design, especially that it is SHARP, making it most uncomfortable to put on and remove, and even to wear. Sure, if one doesn’t move his or her finger at all, it might be tolerable, but it’s not realistic.
Let me add that I bought two of these GORGEOUS “watermarked” Sonoran Turquoise rings because I’d never seen such a beautiful pattern on Turquoise before, and I love almost every different variety of turquoise that I’ve ever seen. This may, in fact, be my new favorite, more than Sleeping Beauty, Kingman, Red Skin, or Campitos. The watermarked Sonoran is even MORE IMPRESSIVE in person than online or in the video.
So, on the plus side, let me offer the compliment you deserve for using such large rectangular stones in a relatively simple design that was great for the gentlemen, and still something that I’m sure the ladies loved too. The large cut was a great way to show off the watermark of this exceptional Sonoran Turquoise. I was also pleased that you left the undergallery completely open, exposing more of the beautiful and natural stone, and I am so pleased it IS natural and not “compressed.”
Due to the gallery design that IS so SHARP and hurts to put on and remove, and even to wear, I am joining the majority of customers who left reviews, however, and returning both rings I purchased. I wasn’t sure on sizing, and at the FABULOUS PRIZE for this beautiful stone, I didn’t want to miss out on it, so I thought I’d buy two, pick a finger, and return the other. Instead, I’m VERY SADLY returning both.
IF You have ANY MORE of this stone, may I please encourage you to make similar GENDER NEUTRAL designs, or even take the remainder of this stock, use the same FABULOUSLY CUT stones, and refine the setting. It’s a great look, just a flawed execution, which in all fairness is quite rare from your line.
