Bellezza vs. Technibond?
I’ve added pieces of Technibond to my real gold pieces and eveerything looks great together. I’ve never tried Bellezza and all the reviews are raves at this point. Do you own some and what do you think about it? Thanks.
technibond is sterling silver plated w/ gold…no mystery metals.
I agree that the older pieces are lasting much longer than the newer.
Too bad because I did enjoy all the various pieces I purchased.
Add a few drops of liquid soap in a small "cereal" bowl filled with water, then add any piece of jewelry. Let it sit for a few minutes, swish around if a necklace etc. thoroughly rinse under running water..( always close sink hole! )…PAT DRY! Don’t rub. Lay on a towel to finish drying.
I never use chemicals on my jewelry. And most nights, with the jewelry I’ve worn that day, just before I go to bed, I do this quick cleaning routine. That way, all my jewelry; pearls, stones, crystals, beads, metals, etc., have makeup, body oils, perfume, gently removed and are sparkling ready for their next use. Have been doing this for many years with no ill effects on the jewelry….and I’m a Heidi Daus Collector.
Bellezza is actual bronze, and Technibond who knows what. Bellezza is weighty and solid, Technobond earrings I got bend as if made of aluminuium wire!
Do not waste your money! Belleza jewelry is horrible! All my pieces have tarnished and I wasted $200 + dollars. HSN will not take back after 30 days. They are going in the trash. So disappointed.
ITZME, Bellezza…being that it is plated in gold, it’s not the base metals that you are cleaning or polishing, it’s the gold that you are polishing. I find that a quick swipe with a polishing cloth, usually just to swipe finger prints off highly polished pieces is all that I need to do. Everything else, I just clean to remove daily body oils…it stays beautiful on it’s own otherwise. But even solid gold needs to be polished from time to time.
I have not bought any of the Technibond lately, I own several pieces from the past. I have seen an opinion on these forums that new gold plating is not as strong as it used to be. Technibond used to have Lifetime Waranty, but I think it was dropped by hsn. Belezza is Bronze – metal alloy used extensively in everyday objects. Bronze is an alloy consisting mainly of copper, combined most often with tin, but at times also with other metals. In value it is often compared to brass – an alloy of copper and zinc, just has different properties and purposes.
Theoretically, bronze should last longer than Technibond and it should be more appropriate for everyday wear, as harder metal alloy. I have no experience with cleaning bronze. Eventually it should get oxidized, but not as soon as silver. Enjoy your new pieces.
Hello itzme, miamicbn and cindy819…I’m glad U (itzme) asked this question…and happy w/responses-as often wondered myself! :womanwink: Always wore REAL gold b/c my skin ‘turned green’ even with IT! So, anything else turned w/in a day of wear! I own ‘Technibond’ in plat AND I LOVE IT! I now too have some gold Technibond from 25+yrs ago and still looks good, but if I’m HONEST, I don’t wear-was given to me, from my grandmother b4 she passed (I’m a vocalist and she gave for STAGE). Now, gold is so expensive (GLAD I KEPT MY OLD GOLD PIECES) and ‘EN VOGUE’, I’m considering some pieces for stage. So, thanks for the Q & A!! IF YOU BUY SOME…LET ME KNOW HOW YOU LIKE?…AND I’LL DO THE SAME! GOOD LUCK TO US BOTH! Thanks, cindy819/miamicbn! :smileyhappy:
Thank you both. I’ll take a closer look at some Belleza items.
I have several pieces of Bellezza & they have all been great…they still look as good as they did new!
ITZME…I’d pick Bellezza over Technibond in a heart beat. I have old pieces of Technibond that are still as pretty as the day I got them, I’m talking 20 years old…I have pieces of Technibond that I bought in the last 2 years that I cannot wear at all. They look awful. they have tarnished beyond cleaning. Pitted, have dark spots that won’t clean and the guarantee is gone. I don’t buy it anymore.
I have a lot of Bellezza…I have bought it from the first time it showed on air. It’s heavy, beautiful and does not tarnish or change color. I an never disappointed in the line. I mix it with my "real" gold, and no one can tell the difference. As I cannot afford substancial, heavy solid gold…Bellezza is my next best thing!
