We asked: Would you rather stay home or vacation for the holidays?
You answered: Usually I’d rather stay home. However, one of these year, and very soon, I want to go back north and spend some time with my 3 young granddaughters in Buffalo. I’ll gladly pack my winter leather outfits, boots, and all and fly up to spend some time with them.

Nothing beats staying home for the Holidays. My husband, daughter, and I start off Christmas Eve by going to my parents house (30 minutes away), and open presents with my family. Then just as it starts getting dark , we head home and open our presents to each other. Then on Christmas morning my daughter opens her presents from Santa. It’s a tradition I wouldn’t change for anything!
I would rather vacation then stay home. I love traveling and experiencing new things !
I would rather stay home for the holidays. When I have had the opportunity to go on vacation, I try to do so much that I wear myself out! Staying home for the holidays will give me the chance to read some books, hang out on the couch, and re-energize.
I would stay home with my family and spend time seeing how to spend all the money and gift cards I receive
While , Home is where the Heart is, I would love to be at the North Pole, Santa’s Village. I of course would want my Daughter and the Special One in her life to be with me, otherwise it could not be the most Wonderful Christmas. Barbara, Bobie54.
I would stay home nothing like seeing my boys opening their gifts on Christmas morning. Than having a big breakfast.
I absolutely love Christmas, I would always want My Daughter around me, Other Family if possible, but truth be told as long as My Daughter and this year Her Significant Other were with me, although Home is Best, I would love love love Santa’s Village at the North Pole. Ho Ho Ho.
I would much rather stay home and celebrate with the family. Nothing compares to watching the grandkids open up the presents from Santa. I even get down with them on the floor to play too.
I’m not one for large groups of people or traveling and I don’t have family near me, so I often stay home and just have a relaxing day. It’s kind of nice not to have the phone ringing or work that has to be done.
Thanksgiving I like to stay home because I love to cook and that’s my favorite cooking holiday. During Christmas I like both! We have had some fantastic Christmases in London, Florida, Paris and Hawaii to name a few.
I would stay home because my family lives around me. I rather be with family during the holidays because it is a special time of the year.
When we were younger and our son was little, each family member held Christmas on a different year. This way everyone didnt have to rush to everyones house. Big family!
Now that our kids are grown and some of them have kids of their own, the families have gotten too large, and moved away, they each spend time with each other if possible.
Due to health, I actually like just spending time at home. But we may go visit with 1 sister, she will probably be home alone since her daughter and grandkids dont live close to her. Brother will probably be out of town. Not sure about the other sister. And this way our baby dog will get to go for a ride!!
And this may be the first time in many years that my husband does not have to work Christmas. He was in retail for many years. Not this year, but dont know his schedule yet.
I vacation every year since my Sister passed, and I have my Niece, Grandson, Granddaughter & their Dad come down with us to my friends home who they call Aunt Pat.. The children & all look forward to coming and we always have friends that come as well since they are considered family as well… We always have a great time, great food, great family & friends.. only 35 miles to get there so it is well worth it to be with everyone.. I give Thanks to all and especially to Aunt Pat as she makes the best turkey & I make the ham.. lol So for me yes spending quality time away for me is the way to go.. God Bless to everyone
because my family and I stay home each and every year for the holidays,
I would have to say that I would love to go away for the holidays.
its the perfect time to get away. most towns have lots to see during
the holidays. prices are right for “souvenir” shopping and for some
bargain brunching. and, the majority of people are very busy
over the holidays so you might actually get lots of quality me time-
with no hustle or bustle to be found. just love it.
cheers to a beautiful holiday season, loves. xoxo
