Who do you think are the worst hosts?
I’ve been an HSN customer since my soon to be 34 y/o son was an infant. I’ve shopped at the "Q" quite a bit and to a lesser degree the other two in my area. IMHO, there are good & "bad" people in every job or, profession. I feel the ones with the best balance of professionalism, ego, sharing personal life, and true devotion to the customers are right here at HSN! The hosts are promoted & being made to feel as celebrities at The "Q" and, I find THAT is quite unprofessional and all around annoying! I see it starting here at HSN and do not like it! I don’t need to be preached to, treated as if I were part of a special exclusive club, nor pitched to as if I cannot go another day without their products! And, yes…I do change channels!
Home shopping in general (NOT) this network; used to be a bargain. I don’t see too many bargains anymore. Not when every store and catalog in the country has continuous sales, coupons and other incentives. Do I still shop here or, at any of the others? Yes, I do. If I see something unique or new and occasionally for gifts. Also, I’m now disabled and can’t walk around a mall or even a big box store for very long.
First of all, they may be called " hosts" but, let’s be real….they are very highly paid high energy salespeople who are groomed to act as if they were in fact a "host". They all are quite priveledged to meet some celebrities and famous people
"BAD"? I’m not sure where being bad comes in? The word "bad" is a very broad adjective. But, I feel the thread is going in a hurtful and BAD way from some posters to others!
COME ON EVERYONE….can’t we just talk?
I’ll probably upset some posters, but, isn’t blogging and/or airing one’s opinion on the threads called "freedom of speech"? I don’t see the need to state sarcastic attacks on anyone if the reader does not agree with another’s opinion. If a commenter feels that he/she is in disagreement with another poster’s comment, why not say so, vis-a-vis, "I disagree", minus the sarcasm. I leave some threads alone whenever I see such unbridled sarcasm. Sometimes the path of least resistance is the best way to go.
I think the hosts on HSN are much better than the hosts on another channel.
As far as complaints about the hosts here, everyone has different tastes. But beyond that, feedback IS important for a business. That’s why restaurants encourage comments/ complaints/ feedback.
I think complaints about vendors, products, and employees could be constructive criticism. But the down-side of that is posting names on a public forum, like this. It would be hurtful to those people. On here, it would probably be best not to name names. That’s just my opinion.
If I was a host, I’d probably read the forums. There could be things I’m doing or saying that I didn’t realize could be done better. I would use it to improve myself.
Look at all the halos that should be given out here!
Such holier-than-thou posters. YET, they can’t WAIT to pile on another poster.
This will get less posters and less honesty among posters.
HSN is losing my business because a host on late at night irritates me with her fairy voice and ooohing and ahhhing so much it makes my head hurt. SO I DON’T WATCH anymore. It is silly to watch on mute.
So, there are good reasons to let HSN know via this forum of it. It is feedback for them to consider.
The question asked says more about the person than the hosts. Next.
apparently these people with their positive reviews are seeing or getting products that they don’t give a crap about what the host are selling then heck I could sell you the bay bridge and you would believe that I really own it but yet you said don’t pick on a host, but yet you sit there and judge the buyer because they have their opinions maybe you don’t care how you spend your money but some do so if a host is gonna advertise a product then do the research or otherwise you’re just there for a paycheck and sooner later you’ll be out of a job, personally I wouldn’t want my friends, my kids or friends know I’m a lier.
BEUTE… Mike, in his Thread, said that it doesn’t work on cars with a ‘Push-Button’ Ignition. Check it out!
I believe it would as long as you have a cigarette lighter or A/C adaptor in your car.
Well said Caddygal & Wilddletta:)
This subject is so uncalled for… Amen to your post Caddygirl!!…I just read the follownig a few days ago….Just because some people are FUELED by DRAMA, doesn’t mean you have to ATTEND the performance. Keep up the good work ALL HSN hosts!! Love you in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Really! If you have nothing better to do than devise tacky topics like this, get a job! How would you like if it HSN posted "Worst Customer".
We all have our faults. No one should find pleasure in publicly bashing others. These people have a very hard job to do, as we all do in life. They are trying to survive and make a living, and are dealing with personal issues that we know nothing about. Who knows what burden they may be carrying personally. Reading an ugly and unnecessary comment could be just the thing that pushes them over the edge. Then you wouldn’t have to see them anymore on TV would you? This world is a rough enough place as it is, without having ugly comments posted about you over the internet.
I totally agree with and support our constitutional right to free speech. But with that right comes a responsibility. Speaking the truth is fine, but it should always be tempered with kindness.
There are some hosts whom I don’t care to watch, for whatever reason, but I just mute or turn the channel. I don’t find it necessary to critique and bash them over the internet. I sure wouldn’t want someone to do that to me. If you don’t like them, don’t watch them. It is that simple.
Then there is the fact that some might be watching too much HSN if they have stooped to host bashing. There was a song in the 60’s that ran something like this: "walk a mile in my shoes, before you criticize and accuse, walk a mile in my shoes". Pretty good food for thought, huh! It is just as easy to find something good to say about someone as it is to find something bad to say. Sometimes you have to look a little harder for the good points, if you don’t like the person for any reason, but you can always find something good if you try. Give it a try.
My issues with hosts isn’t at HSN…….it’s at the network that is supposedly #1, up hear near me in West Chester, PA. They are not nearly as professional and are being promoted as mini celebrities. So very unprofessionall. Here at HSN, the hosts are professional at their jobs but know they aren’t self indulgent.
Most of the hosts tell enough about themselves to be human without forgetting they have a public work lives. Huge difference. Everyone has different personalities and no one can have everyone like them. But MO it’s not a competion, it’s their work.
There are no "WORST" hosts. Its just a matter of opinion based on who is watching. Most people have preferences maybe as far as their favorite.Live TV is never an easy job and the hosts are no different than people we meet in everyday life. They all have their own distince personalities.Just don’t watch during times that someone is on that you don’t care for. There are thousands watching that just love that host and just as many may avoid your favorite. There is no reason to be critical.
I may watch HSN 1 time per year. I do not have time for waching HSN on television.
I imagine it is a lot of pressure. They have to put on a show that sells product and see a post of who is the worst host.
‘Look to the log in your own eye’, saith a wise one.
