Wisconsin state fair is the best cream puffs , brats and beer!!! Who could ask for more and they never guess my age must be the Prai!
We went to a small town fair in a remote area and felt like we took a step back in time. It was wonderful to see the community come together and host such a community spirited event. Even better was the look of glee on the children’s faces as they competed in the three legged race and pie eating contest. Small town U.S.A., gave their profit to charity defining the true meaning of community. ❤️
My children’s school fairs! Watching them having fun, priceless.
In my youth, our vacations were spent visiting my grandparents in upstate New York. One year the NY State Fair came to that area during our visit. We ran across a vendor selling Funnel Cake. Being from PA, we went crazy for it. The vendor told us that not too many people there knew what Funnel Cake was and business was very poor. So we bought a bunch and traveled around the fair, eating it and telling folks about Funnel Cake. By the time we left that night, the vendor was swamped with customers. He was so thankful to us that he refunded our money and sent us home with a Funnel Cake for each us. Great fun and good eats.Great memory, too.
Oh school fairs were always so much fun. Whether it was as a child and attending the school fairs, or as an adult and working at our sons school fairs!
So many memories but my favorite as a child and as an adult were cake walks!!!

That would be the Manitowoc County Fair! Every year all my Grandchildren and Children come back home and we treat them to a day of munchies and carnival rides. We walk thru all the exhibits and barns, watch the shows and spend some family time. A fair doesn’t have to be large to be great.
This year marks the 50th year my mom and me arrived in these United States of America. We spoke no English, and my mom went to work holding two jobs putting me through elementary school, junior high school, high school, and then college. She would come home very tired cook/clean and take care of me.
In the summers when the fair would come to the mall, she would find some time to walk with me several miles just so I could go to the fair. We didn’t go on rides but, we eat cotton candy and played a roulette like game for 25 cents placing the quarter on the color blue.
North Georgia State Fair was the best!
NY State Fair in Syracuse NY. First time was many years ago. Saw Sonny and Cher when they were at the peak of popularity. Later a couple times to see “Oldies” shows, once with Debbie Reynolds. She was very entertaining. I liked some of the animal exhibits, including the Bud Clydesdales.
The All Iowa Fair was the best ever because my dad, mom and my three sisters all were very close and had a lot of fun:)
The first and last time my sister, Susan had talked me into riding the roller coaster:)
I was so scared when the ride was over my legs were shaking:)
But we had fun eating hot dogs, hamburgers, cotton candy, and ice cream:)
Its always fun when all the family were together:)
Thank you for asking and good luck everyone:)
The best fair I ever went to was the State Fair in 1976. It was my senior year in high school and believe it or not, it was the first and only time I have been to the State Fair in Raleigh NC. I went with my boyfriend (now husband). We had a wonderful time and I will never forget it.
THE GEM FAIR! I got a beautiful Larimar necklace and matching ring.
