The Monday Night Show Asks: What’re the 3 most unique ways you’ve used sheets (not on a bed)?
I have used sheets, the flat ones, to make curtains, cover pillows and pillow cases as a laundry bag
We’ve push pinned them to the ceiling to seperate the kids room when they are in their moods.
1 –Cut in strips and used with t shirts cut in strips to make braided rag rugs. The sheet strips helps to keep the stretchiness of the t-shirts less of an affect.
2–Made a huge American flag. The fabric painting was way fun, on hands and knees on the floor.
3–Cannot post as it is not in compliance with a number of community guidelines. :smileytongue:
Like most everyone, I have used sheets as the occasional window curtain, school pageant outfit, Halloween costume, etc. But as for more "creative" uses…
1) As an easy to sew on backer for handmade quilt tops. (Flat sheet)
2) A great "sew on your own ruffle" box spring cover/dust ruffle base. (Flat sheet)
3) A car seat cover to help reduce the hair-nado caused when taking the fur babies out for a drive. (Fitted sheet.)
(Then there’s always the "tie them together to escape from the tower you’ve been locked in by a madman" thing. LOL)
The 3 most unique ways that I have used sheets are: As a cover to protect my furniture from pet hair, draping them over our bedroom windows and using them as a black out shade to block the lights from the street, and I have used them to pack my valuables when moving.
As a Towel when you step out of the shower and realize all the towels are being washed!!!!
As a curtin when your cats have torn down the curtin!!!!!!
As rags when the husband cannot find any rags in the house!!!!!!

All so used sheets as curtain panels when I just moved in a new apartment.(3) I used sheets to cover sofa, floor whever I’m painting.
i have used as a coffee table cloth ( it’s really a trunk) I put one layerd in the bottom of my dresser for my cat, Phil, who likes to lay in there, but likes a sheet , and to cover my computer screen at night, b/c the cat walks across my desk and gets his fur over the screen!!
Apparently I am not very creative, but I have really enjoyed reading these answers, and I have learned a lot! Thank you for the question, and thank you to everyone to contributed. I’m going to try some of these!
When I was selling my house I did not want to spend a lot on staging so I used my sheets. I number one used them as table cloth aaand aas decoration on my chest of drawers and over my rocker with a throw it blenses in with my curtains aand comforter msking my bedroom beautiful at a small price Andhelp me turn my dining room into an intimate setting with some candles on top and aaaa table with matching sheet in back that made a very romantic place to put my crystal ice holder a couple of chhampagne glasses and some red roses . It was beautiful I did not have to go buy anything else and my home sold quickly.you would br suprised what you can use the things you already have to turn something plain and unmatched to a beautifyl or helpful idea. I was the only one who new the table was schrachted and I had sheets all over my home .Sometimes it is necessaray to save and be pratical but no one else has to know
- When my son was a wee one, I purchased an expensive -patterned sheets in olive green, gold and orange. The lined drapes were made from those sheets and hung from a long decrovative rod. That was 1977 and now he is about to become a father.
- 2nd reason we use sheets is protect the shaggy-haired sheltie from disturbing the fabric on the couch
- .Final use, the ole sheet on the bed trick, before unpacking from a trip, because my husband carefully places the cases,on the bed, which were dragged about the airport, tossed on some bin to be loaded on the plane.:
- ladies this is not the time or the place to fight, so I developed a managable, strategic maneuver.
- Yes a good man is hard to find! ! !
He trys to assist me in unpacking; well he only pulls items out his case. I would rather save the duvet; as well as our marriage, :the ole sheet on the bed works every time Plus, the big kiss and thank you..
I’ve used a sheet to back a quilt when I didn’t have quilting fabric, when I was a child my sister and I tied sheets together and made tents in the living room where we could have lunch, play cards and play with our stuffed animals, and I have also used a bed sheet around my bed to make a stage to put on a puppet show for my parents with my stuffed animals.
Sorry but I must add a 4th. The backside of a homemade qulit.I did this with 2 quilts.I used quality sheets. Those qulit are over 16 years old. They are a family staple. They are still holding up strong, after several washing. The quilts are actually hand sewed.
1. As a cover for an ugly sofa.
2.A Christmas Tree skirt.
