The "mmm-hmm" factor
When a host constantly says "mmm-hmm" everytime a vendor says something, it makes it sound as if the host is bored or lacks the ability to think of descriptive words in order to communicate effectively. It’s also really annoying to listen to. Shannon Fox is guilty of this. I hate to single her out, but she is the only one who does it to an excessive degree. I wish she, as well as some others, would stop "mmm-hmm-ing" all over the place. You don’t have to fill every second of airtime with vocal sounds. Sometimes, silence is appropriate.

It is absolutely off the charts unacceptable, she sounds like a little kitty cat. It just comes across as very lacking. Either TALK, like host or go home, nobody needs to listen to you say ahummmm in a myriad of ways over the course of an hour or more.

I cant believe it, she is back on tonight, tried to watch and give her another chance, MISTAKE. One minute into the show she is on some wacky piece of exercise equipment and she starts mmmmmmmmmmmmmming. Somebody needs to tell her to stop this. She wants to sound nonchalant, as if she doesnt care, all relaxed, well she can achieve this by being silent, nobody needs to hear pointless mmmming. It adds nothing, and it is a bit lazy.
